I agree with the who lost friend. I'm guessing that there's also a hint of a story about getting caught up in the drug game.

Wow, I cried when I listened to this song. It's truly beautiful. I feel so sorry of anyone who has to go through that serious loss. It's amazing how he manages to describe that series of emotional changes that a person goes through. The happiness of knowing she's pregnant, to the sadness with the loss. |

For it's it's just about stopping every now and then to smell the roses, and just enjoy what you have in life. I know this song was a lot more literal for Jack, because he was on a train in France, and just wanted to have look around. I love the idea of just egtting a chance to have everything stop for a moment, letting you relax and enjoy what's going on around you. |

I heard him talking about why he wrote this and how he came about it. If I have it right, he had just seen a group of old friends, and just felt so angry at the way they had changed in the time apart, that when he got home he just sat down and wrote this song about them. I'm pretty sure that's the story of the song. |
