Death Cab for Cutie – Coney Island Lyrics 18 years ago
I really didn't fall in love with this song until i moved away from my first college. I seem to have found the same meaning that a lot of other people did. I moved away for awhile. " When i cam back, nothing was as i left it, but there were things that were the same (alantic echos back) and i enjoyed it, but i realized i should leave a good thing a good thing. Theres nothing i can do about the people who live there, but i'm sure i'm not going back."

Death Cab for Cutie – Blacking Out the Friction Lyrics 18 years ago
I think DCFC is about a friend giving another friend some advice: You know, I don't mind my problems so much. You can't just move to solve your problems, you need to change your attitude. You could just move away and just forget this every happened, but its gonna be hard when you realize they weren't the one who was wrong.

Weezer – Perfect Situation Lyrics 19 years ago
just started really gettin into this album, but i believe this one, beverly hills and Freak me out are the best on Make Believe. the meaning of the song is pretty obvious though. It's about a guy who can't seem to ever step up, he know's what he has to do, but he doesn't as far as getting the girl goes.

Ben Gibbard – You Remind Me of Home Lyrics 19 years ago
I'll also agree, he doesn't say lie, it's life. To me this song is about a person, probably a girl, who reminds him about home. Not the good things about home though, the parts about home that made him feel like he was wasting his life just staying there. And so this person also reminds him of that time in his life. He/she is stuck somewhere and it's only their fault if they don't stop thinking about it and do something to add meaning to their life.

Ringside – Strangerman Lyrics 19 years ago
I haven't done any research on this song or anything, but this song makes sense to me if it's about his older brother or dad. My only reasoning is when i was growing up, i could share my life with my mom more than my dad when i was growing up. And it could've been his older brother, someone he looked up to that didn't want too much to do with his younger brother when he grew up. I'm reluctant to think the singer is gay and is talkin about some other guy.

Ringside – Raining Next Door Lyrics 19 years ago
To me, this song is about this guys neighbor who seems to have a rough life with relationships and what not and she calls em out on why they sing about being sad when they have no reason to be like she does. I don't know if any of you guys have been in a situation like that, but usually you don't want to be that guy that makes it better cause you're just not interested in makin her wildest dreams come true but feel bad for her anyways. "there's nothing i could do for the girl
cause it's always raining next door"

Ringside – Miss You Lyrics 19 years ago
i think the meaning of this song is pretty obvious, the title says it all, i wasn't sure on some of the lyrics, some lines he sang and i think he said quietly on purpose, but it sounds like he says it right towards the end of the song. I'm talking about the line "harder to hear than to goodbye", you don't really hear the "to"s that well. I loves ringside as much as i do, this album will probably be my favorite all year.

Kings of Convenience – Misread Lyrics 19 years ago
You know, they say the meaning of the song is the meaning to you. To me its not about a girlfriend neccessarily, it's about relationships with people in general. The person this song is about is a very honest and up front person. He has a habit of picking out peoples flaws and letting them know about it with honest intentions, but the other person gets hurt and misunderstands his intentions of trying to be the best friend you'll ever meet. A friend that will be brutally honest simply becuase of the fact that he wants to make you an even better person. Long story short, he burns a bridge because the other person doesn't get it.

John Vanderslice – Confusion Boats Lyrics 19 years ago
The only way this song makes sense to me at all is if it's about how he felt when his parent(s) did and it was just him and his sister. They were deep in their sea with their parents and they were painfully brought out into people attention. They felt orphaned and even though they were older, they couldn't help but feel little. The death of their parent(s) was like dieing slowy inside. Milky Seas and Levitating sounds like a reference to heaven to me. And maybe you should be saying sorry? to him.

That's what i get from it. Anybody else?
