Pink Floyd – Mother Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I forgot to say that that should be obvious just from the lyrics themselves, especially if you read them end-to-end. |
Pink Floyd – Mother Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"in the movie, the main character, Pink, builds a psychological "wall" around himself to block out people and feelings and things in the world. events in his life that lead to the building of the wall are referred to as "bricks" in the wall, hence "all in all it's just another brick in the wall." in this song, Pink's mother contributes to his wall by being over-protective. in the end of the song, he is asking his mother why the "wall" had to be so high, because it has a negative impact on him later in life. watch the movie, it will all make sense." Spot on. It's lame how people keep trying to interpret it so deeply like "oh uh blah blah is the government and the wall durka durrr..." without realizing The Wall is a holistic work that this is just a piece of. omg, did roger like h8 his mommmiey?!?! |
Led Zeppelin – Achilles Last Stand Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song really shows how much Jimmy Page and Omar Rodriguez of the Mars Volta have in common stylisticly. Doesn't the main riff sound like something Omar would play? It's crazy how when Zep sped up they sound like TMV, and I know that sounds backwards since Zep was jamming before Omar was born but you know what I mean. IMO this is as close to perfect as a song could get. |
Boston – Peace of Mind Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Really speaks to me and my situation now. I agree with the comments above, but I think it speaks more specifically about college in particular, and deciding what to do or whether to go at all, and if you want to work your ass off and be successful but very likely unhappy, or if you'd rather not work as much and not have as much, but have much less of a burden on you. Or maybe it was about them deciding whether or not to drop everything else and go for it full-time as a band. That's what I get anyway. |
Primus – Tommy The Cat (live) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Man Herb kicked the shit out of Brain on drums. Herb has technique and style and originality and knew how to use his enourmous kit, Brain beats on his little shit like he's Travis Barker. |
Primus – Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers Lyrics | 19 years ago |
And of course by "batch" I meant "badge". Don't know how that happened. And I didn't explain it that well. Les is pretty much saying Bush Sr is (was) going after an unachievable goal: abolition of all drug use, via the WoD. I hope that makes sense. |
Primus – Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Those three guys up there are right. A line that stood out to me is this: While curious George's drug patrol Is out here hunting snipe Curious George likely means Bush Sr, and "hunting snipe" pretty much means a wild goose chase. One time on King of the Hill, Hank and the adults take out Bobby and the kids to hunt a made-up creature called a snipe for their "straight arrow" batch. Bobby ends up whacking an extrememly endangered whooping crane but that's another story. The point is he's criticizing the massive failure and waste of American tax dollars known as the War on Drugs. |
Primus – Eleven Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yes this song's timing is eleven, in a way. It's actually alternating measures of 6/4 and 5/4, or at least that's how it feels to me. I guess you could notate it as one big measure of 11/4. I think the lyrics are just there tacked on to make this song non instrumental; the focus of the song is the timing. |
Primus – My Name Is Mud Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Man you guys shut the fuck up! Everyone knows the best bassist ever in the history of anything was Dee Dee Ramone! No I'm just kidding, my point is sure Vic Wooten may be more skilled than Les but that doesn't make Les less (heh) of a badass. There are people out there better than Vic Wooten, FACT. There's always someone above you and someone below you. Now shut the fuck up and talk about the song! The song is about some backwoods guy, maybe a bit dim in the head, killing someone after a spat. Like a lot of people have already said. |
Deftones – Fireal Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It makes me think of someone betraying someone, "no fist to fuckin save you from, you knock me out", like he would protect this guy from shit and now that the guy doesn't need his help anymore he goes after him, I guess. I dunno. |
Deftones – Lifter Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The lyrics you posted are closer but still not 100%... here's the right ones: Watch me with your eyes Been giving god a pedophile I want to be just like you Then I'd be cool, maybe not But we lift our eyes Big surprise Kiss me goodbye whore Without you being here I've been giving fear, been a bore I wish I could feel like you When I fuck like you, getting sore But we lift our eyes Big surprise Kiss me good And it makes you burn all that you work for Every knuckle wiped into her I know if i get more style I will never get what I want Inside of her This gift of mine Resing, restring, unwind My eyes are closed A part of me gets pissed, a part of me gets sore A part of me gets pissed, a part of me gets sore A part of me gets pissed, a part of me gets sore And it makes you burn all that you work for Every knuckle wiped into her I know if i get more style I will never get what I want Inside of her A part of me gets sick, a part of me gets sore Inside, I burn A part of me gets sore, a part of me gets sick A part of me gets sore, a part of me gets sore fuckin' sick |
Ramones – We're A Happy Family Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love the main riff to this song, and all of them like it like Lobotomy and... fuck, I can't think of any others. But I know there are a lot. |
Black Flag – Six Pack Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Fu Manchu did a cover of this, and it's slow as fuck. It's still a decent cover though. |
Black Flag – Six Pack Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Fu Manchu did a cover of this, and it's slow as fuck. It's still a decent cover though. |
Dead Kennedys – Dog Bite Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Oh and I forgot the constant woofing from Ray (I guess). That's funny too. |
Dead Kennedys – Dog Bite Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is hilarious, Jello tells them it's too slow and they start over but it's pretty much the same speed. And those weird sounds he makes at the beginning. Sounds like a bark and a meow. Even if it's not I'll still tell myself they are because it's funny. |
Dead Kennedys – MTV - Get Off The Air Lyrics | 19 years ago |
anti-kennedys, your last paragraph is spot on. |
Dead Kennedys – Let's Lynch The Landlord Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Catchy as fuck, especially the chorus. Great lyrics. You just have to sing this song when you listen to it. |
Dead Kennedys – Moon Over Marin Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The first time I heard this song, I was shocked that DK could come up with something so musical and beautiful. Crazy shit. |
Metallica – Dyers Eve Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"Not that Lars isn't a good drummer in his own right." No, he certainly is NOT a good drummer. At all. |
Metallica – Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue (Ramones cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's a Ramones cover, dumbass. |
Ramones – Judy Is a Punk Lyrics | 19 years ago |
One of my favorites, especially sped up. It doesn't sound right otherwise. |
Ramones – I Don't Wanna Walk Around With You Lyrics | 19 years ago |
About dumb bitches that follow you around no matter how much you tell them off. Duh. |
Ramones – Havana Affair Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song makes me crack up, the way he says "Pickin da bananah" is hilarious |
Ramones – Chainsaw Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Turn off your caps lock, moron. |
Ramones – Loudmouth Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's pretty obvious. I think it's cool how this song is almost identical to Blitzkrieg, so it takes you a second to actually know what song you're listening to when you stick the tape in. |
Ramones – Beat on the Brat Lyrics | 19 years ago |
... And that, people, is why the Ramones rule. |
Ramones – Blitzkrieg Bop Lyrics | 19 years ago |
We played this song at a talent show at the speed they would do it live. We didnt place because people like lame acoustic guitar shit and people trying to pull off progressive rock. Bastards. |
The Mars Volta – Inertiatic ESP Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Too bad you yourself are not spot on either, Black. Yeah, he injected a bunch of different chemicals mixed together (not just rat poison) that shriveled up his arm, but that's not what the story's about. It's about an attempted morphine overdose that results in a coma, the comatose dreams he has, and his eventual suicide decision after awakening. He wasn't put into the coma by the "rat poison". |
The Mars Volta – Cicatriz ESP Lyrics | 19 years ago |
He always does that. |
