I have to agree the inclusion of the song in the movie "Closer" is perfect. I think the verses "the shorter story / no love no glory / no hero in her skies" refer to a girl who doesn't believe in the big epic romantic view of love. And they'll "both forget the breeze" means that even if a wind of change comes, it won't mean much. He can't take his mind or his eyes off this person "'til [he] find[s] someone new." |

City of the Damned reminds me of the Simon and Garfunkle song, "The Sound of Silence." There's a lyric that says, "The words of the prophets are written on subway walls / And tenement halls." The whole song is about a guy watching the world around him crumbling to doom and the people who are apathetic to his help and guidance, much like our hero in this song. You might find more similarities if you look the song up. |
