Evanescence – Going Under Lyrics 19 years ago
The lyrics of this song make me think that Amy might be talking to God. It's a thought! This band was spiritually-based at one point, and many of their songs incorporated spiritual themes. If the one being spoken to is God, then does that indicate Amy is disappointed with Him in some way?

Alison Krauss – Let Me Touch You For A While Lyrics 19 years ago
Somebody finally managed to retrofit blue grass for the 21st Century! Alison Krauss rocks! (Even though she doesn't)

P.O.D. – Youth Of The Nation Lyrics 19 years ago
This song rocks! It's so full of meaning and feeling! I'm not a young person, but I remember what it was like to be confused and wondering what's going to become of you. POD is a Christian band, so I guess they're just trying to say that God is the answer that we're all really searching for. I think he's right, and I'm glad there are bands like them who can speak a lingo that kids today understand.

Linkin Park – Crawling Lyrics 19 years ago
One of the things I like about this band is that their songs are just concise enough to evoke a sense of meaning in the listener but vague enough to allow each individual to attach his or her own special meaning. I have been listening to rock music since the early 70s, and I have heard few bands that do this more effectively than Linkin Park. For me, I see a picture of the sense of aimless wandering and purposelessness that a lot of young people feel today. The post-modern world has pulled the rug out from under that last several generations by destroying our foundational values and leaving younger people with no reference points by which to make sense of life and its struggles. People in this condition a left feeling broken and fragmented, unable to really find their way into the light. The fragmented girl in the video apparently finds something in the end that gives her hope. Wonder what it was?

Linkin Park – Numb Lyrics 19 years ago
I'm probably the eldest person commenting on this song, being 48 years old. I think Linkin Park is a great band. This song Numb makes me want to be more careful in how I raise my son. He is only 5 years old, and I want to always treat him in a way that validates his self worth and give him the freedom to seek his own path in life. Numb brings this out beautifully!
