Natasha Bedingfield – Unwritten Lyrics
|
Gah...so this is why this song is played so much on the radio...
But really; maybe I would not dislike this song so if it were not for the TREMENDOUS amount of times it is played in an hour's time. I am sick of it. You can wrap up a piece of shit to look really pretty and make it smell really nice, but at the end of the day, what you have is still a piece of shit. Even if a huge hunk of gold is rammed through it.
(Gah, I am going to get flammed for this) |

Escape Club – Wild Wild West Lyrics

Ah, a wonderful song to get down to that they rarely play at parties. It deals with the typical stress that one endures when transitioning into a new decade, along with all the changes that come with it. I wish the real wild west sounded this cool. |

Seven And The Sun – Walk With Me Lyrics

Well, I think I only heard this song once on the radio a long time ago (2002), and I never heard it again until I heard it on the film America's Sweethearts, over a year later. Now, I finally know who made the song. It is a cheerful song, and designed I supposed to remind people of the good times spent with friends. |

After the Fire – Der Kommissar Lyrics

I think it is a rather funky song. It has a nice beat, some weird lyrics, and a cool, retro-1980s sound (duh, it came out in the 1980s). I knew something was wrong with the "German" when I asked my German friend what "Alles klar, Herr Kommissar?" meant. He really had no clue. |

Shawn Colvin – Sunny Came Home Lyrics

I hate to sound cryptic, but I know someone that is a member of this site that could find some semblance of meaning in this song.
Song is...well, open to interpretation. None of the above interpretations are, as far as I am concerned, wrong or even slightly off tilt. All those theories occured to me. It's just....nevermind. |

Wall Of Voodoo – Mexican Radio Lyrics

I first heard this song on an internet radio station, and thought it was great. I guess it is one of those songs inspired by a little, unimportant event that piqued the author's curiosity enough to sing about it. Anyway, it is good, and it is not often when digging through the radio dials do you get to hear Mexican Radio (there's a thought-bender for you). |

Depeche Mode – Policy Of Truth Lyrics

I don't care what it means, for the meanings are many. But this is one of my favorite DM songs, and frankly, when I first heard it, I had it stuck in my head all day. The electronic sound and cool refrain make it rather catchy. Defintely one of the best songs I have heard on the radio. |

Cheap Trick – I Want You To Want Me Lyrics

Awesome song. That is all there there is to it. I don't know a single person who hates this song, and the comments preceeding mine seem to confirm that belief here. If I had a band, and if I was trying to impress some girl, this would defintely be the song to do it with. |

Creedence Clearwater Revival – Fortunate Son Lyrics
| 19 years ago

Well, now that we have established our anti-draft sentiments and disillusionment with the crumbling nation that is the USA, let us get back to the song, shall we?
Of course it is anti-Vietnam War. Sheer genius on Fogerty's part. The song is catchy, and I like to hum it to myself when I watch all the little goody-goodies at my school like the mayor's kids and doctor's babiesget away with crap.
'Nuff said. |

Creedence Clearwater Revival – Lookin' Out My Back Door Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
What does this mean to me? Well, I first heard on The Big Lebowski (great movie). Then I started hearing it on the radio. Around that time, I had just returned from a strenous C++ course far from home and had met disappointment in several other areas of human developmental behavior. So I got home, kicked back, and sat in my room, looking out my door....putting it all into perspective. |

Creedence Clearwater Revival – Up Around The Bend Lyrics

Reminds me of Louisiana more than Canada.
But that interpretation is probably correct. Me, I'll take the song for face value; it is a great song to listen to in the car ona trip or just anywhere. On a personal note, it is probably how I'll feel once I get to leave my own "sinkin' ship" behind.
Overall, a great song. Anything by CCR is awesome. |

Men Without Hats – The Safety Dance Lyrics

Well, this was practically the song that got me interested in the music of the 1980's. I Like this one a lot, and I hate it everytime they cut the song short on the radio. Just a fun song to get down to at dance or something. It makes people want to dance! |

Electric Light Orchestra – Don't Bring Me Down Lyrics

This song has a sound totally unique to itself. Great beat, combined with powerful phrases make it one of my favorites. A guy is done with a girl who could care less about him. Now he is walking out. |

Dire Straits – Walk Of Life Lyrics
|
First part of the song is about a guy on top of the world despite his somewhat pitiful surroundings. The second part emphasizes this more, and leads into the third part, in which the character falls from happiness. But at least he remembers the good times and that is the walk of life. I like the cajunish sound to it. Reminds me of my old Louisiana home. |

Shakira – Whenever, Wherever Lyrics

Oh man, if only all females could have hips and asses like Shakira, I would be in Heaven, or something very close to itt.
The song is wonderful, with a melody that resonates in your head for some time after you hear the song. Powerfully optimistic, it is a nice song to hear over and over agaon. Not that I recommend that sort of activity.
But if I had to choose between the music and her...well, I defintitely take Shakira...Baby got back!! |

Duran Duran – Hungry Like The Wolf Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
The song is more about someone trying to complete a mission. In doing so, he becomes frantic as he finds obstacles and cannot control the beast within.
Aside from that, this is one of the first Duran Duran songs I ever heard and was instantly swept away with the awesome beat and sound. It is truly a song one must hear to fully enjoy. |

The Beatles – Cry Baby Cry Lyrics

I agree with razjac on this one, since I heard it for the first time when I was fourteen. For some reason, it evoked the image of a vicious girl I met recently who had to have her way with everything...even other guys. I wished she got what she deserved, and this song's chorus seemed to be doling out her punishment. |

U2 – Vertigo Lyrics

This is one of the best U2 songs I have heard beat-wise. The lyrics don't bother me, and I like these faster songs anyway. Is it just me or is U2 one of the few bands left that actually make new sounds? |
