Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics 19 years ago
I'll be honest. I have no idea what this song means. There's the distinct possibility it means nothing.

But, to me, this song is a contradiction of the title. The video is very dark and has a eerie feel to it. The words "feel good" are muttered throughout the whole song, but I think it's just supposed to add to the eerieness o f the whole thing.

I just rambled, I have no clue.

Led Zeppelin – All My Love Lyrics 19 years ago
Well, the first lines, "Should I fall out of love...chase a feather..." To me, I thought this was talking about him being married, and then he found someone else, but it'd be hard, much like chasing a feather blowing with the wind is. Or, at least it is to me.

A good number of the posts say that. Is that really relevant?

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Hey Joe Lyrics 19 years ago
Hidden meanings, and interpretations are different.

You can read it and say "This reminds me of Vietnam," or you can read it and say "This is just about a woman cheating on Joe."

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Hey Joe Lyrics 19 years ago
About the background 'hey joe'...I don't think they're saying anything besides that, and I'm sure someone believes that they're saying "SMOKE POT," or something outrageous like that.

What this song is *really* about, I believe, is just about Joe being cheated on. However, it can be applied to Vietnam, using Joe as GI Joe. Although the song may have been writen not about Vietnam, ie can still be applied to Vietnam.

Yeah.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Bold As Love Lyrics 19 years ago
Atemporal, that's exactly the question that we cannot answer.

He talks about his colors as if they were emotions, I think. So if we go with that, his colors are bold or strong, etc, so being bold as love...?

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – If 6 Was 9 Lyrics 19 years ago
Yeah, I think this is about how if the world was upside down, Jimi would still be Jimi, and that no one else can be him. Of course, the flithier part of my mind has a sexual reference, but I'm not sure.

Queen – Killer Queen Lyrics 19 years ago
I'm not sure, but when I heard this song I thought killer queen, so...kills homosexuals? I don't mean that literally. Maybe our killer queen turns homosexuals straight-- killing the queen. Seems like I'm wrong from the comments you guys wrote.

I actually never thought of the spoiled rich girl, but now I can see that. I also see prostitute, cause there are a few lines that do hint at a prostitute painted up with make up and purfume and all. Anyways, that's my 2 cents.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Angel Lyrics 19 years ago
One thing I've noticed with everybody's comments is that they're saying THIS IS WHAT IT IS. We don't know what it is, and if you've ever written a poem you know that it can even be interpreted in ways you didn't even think about.

I believe that this song is about his mother. Probably written the day after (or maybe not) he had a dream about his mother, who was going to be his guardian angel. This goes along with "Little Wing," too, and could possibly be singing about the same occurance, his mother, or could be singing about something completely different.

However, this could be related to death because (obviously) angels are no longer on the earth anymore. If he's going to be "by [the angel's] side," then perhaps he knew that he was going to die. It is possible, however, that he's talking about how short life is, and that maybe he doesn't *need* an angel, because he is telling the angel to "fly on / fly on through the sky," maybe telling the angel off.

Of course, that's just my opinion, I don't think there is a real solid definition to this.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Little Wing Lyrics 19 years ago
"She," can be interpreted in as many ways as reasons for our existance. The one thing everyone seems to agree on is that "she," is Jimi's guardian angel. Now, is this angel real? You have "she," that could be an actual person, perhaps a girlfriend, best friend or something. "She," could also be in his head, his own guardian angel, the little voice in the back of his head. Here's one that I just thought of. Maybe "she," is his guitar. Obviously this man had a great connection with his guitar(s). This isn't the first time people have called guitars "she." Now, I don't have the lyrical support to back up this arguement, it's only my opinion on what it might be. I'm trying to make the point that you need to think about this and draw your OWN conclusions on what it means. I believe this is what Jimi really wanted us to do.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Castles Made Of Sand Lyrics 19 years ago
Ok, I'm gonna basically agree with the up top responses. The first 2 verses about the relationship and indian boy are about things that crumble, like a castle made of sand. However, I believe the last verse is about the oppposite. The young girl who can't talk and who is paralyzed from the waist down (it seems) wants to end her life so that she can move on.

I'm kinda thinking as I type here, but if you use the concept of moving on, the second and third verses are about moving on. The indian boy wants to move on to become a chief and a great warrior, and the young girl wants to move out of her physical body.

Of course, the straight out definition, it seems, of this song is that things that seem so certain can crumble beneath you in an instant. It's an important lesson, and I hope everybody does more than listens to this song, but actually learns from this song.

Jimi tells us a lot about life in general. You can even relate him to someone like Homer who wrote the Odyssey. In The Odyssey, Homer tells us more than a story of a man lost at sea after war. He attempts to teach us about life, and about struggle.

All of Jimi's lyrics have a great deal of this in it as well. As in any great work of literature, there are layers of the text. You need to peel down at the layers. You gotta get past the plain text of it and see what it means in context, see what it could mean in a different context, see why those words were chosen. This isn't some teenage band writing their own lyrics, this is a poetical genious. Jimi spent a great deal of time writing these lyrics because he was trying to tell us something, as well as entertain us.

So with any song, peel down at the layers. Look at what the plain text means, look at what it means in context, and look at what it could mean.

As for this song, you can look at it in different ways, depending on how you turn your head. Plain text is just as everyone has been saying. *Castles made of sand fall into the sea, eventually.* Now, look at it in context and you get the same answer. Look at it in a different context. He's telling us three stories about misfortunes. What could that mean?

Alright, I've typed way too much, sorry.
