When I was younger my grandparents lived at 27 Strawberry Fields, in west yorkshire. I used to go down to their house in my dinner break from school. My grandfather was starting to go senile and I had a deaf mute grandma. And as I couldn't do much sign language it was a bit of a problem communicating. So this song always reminds me of them times. Strangely enough I cannot sing at all, wailing cats, but this is the only song I can sing well on karaoke..... |

Paul saw how the breakup of Julians parents was affecting him. So he wrote a healing song for him. Jude is a mixture of julian and dude(much used in the 60's and still today) and it was Pauls nickname for him. There really is some idiots posting crap about things they don't know on here. |

Duh!!!! Pauls nickname for Julian Lennon was Jude ffs. It was a mixture of Julian and dude(very much used term of affection for a friend). And like its been said before John and his wife were breaking up and it was affecting Julian quite badly. phatboytackle u don't know shit!!! Paul wrote the song, why would John write it and let Paul sing lead? Dickhead. Get your facts right.
And let her under your skin, is Paul telling Jude to look after his mum and don't blame her. |

Paul wrote this song about his mother who was called Mary. But he also had Jesus' mother mary in mind too. Paul played it for John in the studio. Saying hey listen to this it will blow your socks off. And john replying, are we supposed to giggle in the chorus? At the end john says, i quite like that i think i will take one home with me, and then realising the connection between Pauls mum mary, and how the public would see it has christian Jesus' mom he cried, you bounder you cheat.
He thought it up, because when he used to have a problem, his mother would say to him , let it be Paul. Don't worry. It will be ok. |

Lesson number one!!!! In discerning who wrote which songs between lennon and mcartney , do this. Figure out who is singing lead vocals then you will know who wrote the song. They didn't write songs for each other. They went away on their pianos/guitars and then came back to each other with the ideas. Simple. They were in fierce competition with each other, thats what made them great. Always trying to outdo each other. - Limitless undying love = infinity. |

Haha , where are you guys getting this info from? If its about Peter Fonda why is john singing, She said - i know what its like to be dead.(?) The song IS about john on an acid trip. But he met a girl at a party and she was talking to him(fuelled with drugs) she tripped him out big time by saying she knew what it was like to be dead, and he didn't like her messing with his head . So he said your doing my fucking head in i'm leaving. He was thinking how the fuck do you know what its like to be dead? Since knowledge is gathered in the brain through experience. And since the body is dead so is the brain. Its impossible then to know the feeling of being dead. She had probably took so much drugs before that she went into apathy, and John being expressive in his songwriting that she was trying to impress him. Well John wasn't having any of it and wanted to leave. |

The standing solo bit is this- they both wrote their songs seperately yet both helped each other. They were one lennon/macartney team. The song is also spiritual. We are on our way home, meaning heading towards God/the afterlife. Later expanded into the Long and winding road. Going back home(the source/God) |

OMG. This song is about the beatles not getting paid by the bigwigs. They were doing so many gigs and making so much money, and hearing so many stories through the press how they had sold this much etc etc. And they were angry that the 'suits' were getting rich and they werent getting what they were worth. Hence, our love may soon be gone / we might fall apart before too long=we gonna go and get a contract with someone else.
At the end of the day, these guys knew what sold and what didn't (songwriters manipulate everyday things to sell records to make money). Write something your mad about but turn it into a love song, love songs sell.(pure genius) |
