Feist – The Limit to Your Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
These lyrics are horribly wrong. 1. "Is this truth or dare? There's a limit to your care." NOT "Hear the truth or dare." 2. "I love, I love, I love This dream of going upstream." NOT "This drink on my stream." 3. "I can't read your smile, It should be written on your face." NOT "You can't really smile." |

You should all check out the lyric booklet. These lyrics are not correct. I'd suggest corrections verbatim, but I haven't got the booklet on me. |

Metric – Stadium Love Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Fabulous party song. I would dance my ass off to this in a bar. |
Coldplay – Violet Hill Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is most definitely about war and the utter destruction of the world we live in. if banks are cathedrals, then money is god. as far as fog goes, perhaps he's referring to pollution, from oil, from manufacturing, etc., that our governments allow corporations to spew into the air in the name of money. thus fog=money=god. the winter theme could point to a post-apocalyptic notion... nuclear winter, or the greenhouse effect leading to another ice age. |
Bat for Lashes – Prescilla Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Well, a link to "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert," seems obvious, doesn't it? Ha! |

agreed on "you're so ferocious" |
Feist – Intuition Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the lyric is definitely "in half." i mean, i dont' know that officially, but listening to the leak, it sounds like "in half," rather than, "and have." the last 1:20 or so of this song is just beyond belief. she sounds so amazing, and so full of emotion. i really can't stop listening. a friend of mine raised an interesting point, saying that the song "devours," you while you're listening to it, and keeps you in a womb to just be consumed by the song, and then there's an eerie feeling in the silence that follows the song. i thought that was pretty accurate way of describing how the song makes a listener feel. |
Feist – The Eastern Shore (The Water) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i don't really know what to think about this song as far as meaning goes, but it's heartbreaking. absolutely heartbreaking. |

Arcade Fire – Keep the Car Running Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"If some night I don’t come home Please don’t think I’ve left you alone The same place that I must go when they die You can’t climb across a mountain so high The same city where I go when I sleep Can’t swim across a river so deep" There is a line here that is incorrect... "The same place that I must go when they die..." This line should be "The same place animals go when they die" It's on www.neonbible.com. |
Broken Social Scene – It's All Gonna Break Lyrics | 17 years ago |
maybe i'm not reading deep enough into it, but i think it might have to do with a relationship he had with an older man when he was much younger, and then the man dying and his ambivalence towards it? the last portion of the song is fucking amazing, but my favourite part is when the horns sections starts playing in the middle of the song, as well as the verse that preceeds it. there are just so many parts to this song, so many layers and emotions. kevin drew is a mighty talented lyricist, that's for sure. i've seen these guys live twice and they always rock the shit out of this song. it's probably the most amazing thing i've ever had the pleasure of seeing. i don't lie when i say that i'm weak in the knees by the end of this song, its just so amazing and you get so involved with them at their live shows. simply fantastic. |
Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton – The Last Page Lyrics | 17 years ago |
There is an incorrect line after the first two verses... It should be: Lights out til midnight Sleep all day Also, the last part of the lyrics are wrrrrroooong. I've gotta move through the days without you here I get a shock, shock hurts to heal I've gotta move through the weeks without you here I get a shock, shock hurts to heal I've gotta move through the months without you here I get a shock, shock hurts to heal I've gotta move through the weeks without you here, I get a shock, shock hurts to heal I've gotta move through the weeks without you here I get a shock, shock hurts to heal Shock, shock hurts to heal Hurts to heal Hurts to heal Hurts to heal ETC. Half of me thinks this is just a dirge, of sorts, mourning the death of someone (as publicized, her father) but i also think there are parts that could prove to be about suicide? the stanza that talks about leaving for a place from another time, just to be near to the person who has died is the most specific example, but the next part, which says "i'm in the way, i'm in the way..." says that there are parts of her that aren't able to submit to suicide, so she's in the way of her own suicide, and then she goes on to convince herself that suicide is not an answer and that the world she's tried to create for herself, one of risk and chance and truly living, is a better place. do, despite her pain and mourning and depression, she just moves on anyway, and deals with the pain of healing and recovering from the death of someone very dear to her. if this makes no sense, i apologize. i'm drunk. at any rate, its a beautiful song, and the break down at the end gets me every time. love it. |
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Turn Into Lyrics | 18 years ago |
the most unexpected song on the album... ridiculously great. not really sure how to interpret it, but the lyrics throughout are gorgeous. what i find most striking in this song is that, all of the lyrics are in the fragmented karen o style, but then it comes to the kind of breakdown of the song, and it just becomes very cohesive and fluid. i'm referring to these lines: "Can't say why I kept this from you My those quiet eyes become ya Leave it where it can't remind us Turn this all around behind us Oh... Well I know How far I am to keep you out, I'd like to tell you all about it" Her performance here, and the more straight forward, narrative quality of the lyrics are just incredibly affecting, and it shows a side of karen o as an artist and person thats really vulnerable. really an amazing song on her part, but the music, too, i just... i don't know man... pure joy. |
Le Tigre – T.K.O. Lyrics | 19 years ago |
T.K.O. also stands out for TOTAL KNOCK OUT. so it could have something to do with that, rather than the company that makes boxing equipment, although both lend themselves to the media violence theory. however, for some reason i don't think that's what it's about. |
