Ya, def Spanish Civil War, i don't know too much about Eta nor am i going to pretend i do, so i can't comment on that, but a few things, The Popular Front was organized by the bourgeoise and was an attempt by Republicans to control the militias, especially the anarchists and POUM, and by the way, the POUM was not a trotskyist organization, they were just labeled that by the PSUC so they would be attacked, they were the closest thing to real communism we might've seen in the 20th century, and the anarchists are the ones who saved the war in the beginning by stepping up and combating the fascists and holding them off long enough for the other groups to organize Eventually, the POUM and CNT-FAI and AIT were ousted from having any control on the war by the CP and PSUC who were supported by Soviets Ultimately the communists and republicans screwed everyone over and perhaps were the reason why the war was lost, but perhaps not If anyone is interested in this time period, i recommend "Homage to Catalonia" by George Orwell, its a fantastic book, and he ultimately comes to the conclusion that the Spanish Communist Party and the PSUC's main goal was to prevent a revolution from happening and to install state-capitalism in Spain because the Soviets were allied with France and France would not have wanted anything but a capitalist Spain, again - that's Orwell's opinion and I do have a bias in favor of the anarchists since i am one |

This song makes me think of having a revolver put to your head, i.e. six different ways, six chambers in a revolver, hence the "I'll tell them anything they want" if somebody puts a gun to your head, you'll tell them anything they want, "They think I'm on my hands and knees" again, gun to your head, six different ways deep inside my heart, getting shot with the bullets, I'm sure that's not what its about, but that's what it makes me think of, then again, i don't think its about multiple personalities either, but who knows Robert did way too many drugs for anyone to really know what this song is about Post Script - Rules of Attraction wasn't that bad of a movie, it wasn't very good, but not bad either |
