elliott smith was one of the geniuses of our generation. he was an amazing writer, and conveyed emotions that other musicians only wish that they could show. his death is a complete tragedy, and he will be sorely missed. I think that this is one of, if not his best song.
i feel that it is very ironic that one of the most beloved and expressive men in music was so haunted and ill. |

I love this song. It reminds me so much of me and my boyfriend's relationship. We've been together for 18 months. We dont have the most exciting times everytime we go out, but we always have great fun and end up laughing like crazy. I love him with all the depth of my heart and soul. Sigh...great song. |

I thought that this song was simply a love song written from the perspective of Chris Martin until last night. I was talking to my boyfriend about The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and realized the striking similarities between the song and the book. In the book, Gatsby loves Daisy with all he has. The love is unrequited, and there are several references to his "yellow heart". Also, at the show, at the end of this song there is one green light. The book talks about the one green light at the end of the dock. I feel as though this is a very symbolic song. Very beautiful. |

It is my personal belief that all life is sanctified. I believe that God has a purpose for every life, and it is within POD's 1st ammendment rights to write a song about whatever they want. I am not a fan of PODs, but respect their rights. I would probably not come out the way that they did, shoving their opinion in everyones faces. I am a Christian and a pro-lifer, but I think that sublety rather than insulting their listeners intelligence is the way to treat others. |
