The music in the song is lovely. Whether or not you think its just another antireligion song, to me it sounds like Mr Lydon is earnestly trying to express himself... This was record before tool's countless antireligion songs and up to this point it wasnt that common. I think every subject matter has been covered in songs but its about how you express your view. | at the end of dig, anton puts down the dandeys and remarks how you just have to look at his lyrics. i disagree. his lyrics alone are not that profound or deep....however his songs have such depth because he communicates through his music and chords which is an amazing ability....this song is an example of that, "nevertheless" is another prime example. | |

i think the message of this song is communication. in a relationship or in foriegn policy.... on a side note, i used to think he was screaming "Keyser Soze" the name of the character in the usual suspects. |

i finf this song quite funny. its probably there most rocking/noisest thing ive heard from them. great first song on their first release. where 95% of their songs are about sex and they depict themselves with trunks, i doubt that they are really that pissed off when they are at a club and promiscous-coked up women come up to them. maybe now where they are successful they would like to meet wives. but somehow i dont think this was there case back then. |

I had a different look at the song. basically i think its abortion and how afterwards they cant go back to the way things were in the relationship. blood on there hands refers to the pregnancy they had aborted through being irresponsible (not using protection) "There's a sequel to the things I've done You're a women, we both know it's true By the things that I have done to you" -he got her pregnant. the child is the sequel to sex. "I am leaving while you turn away" -she's distant, he's aviodant afterwards. there relationship cant go back to the way it was. there running from the bedroom cause after an abortion you dont just want to hop back into the sack |

| Im suprised so many people think this is weird. It as other stated is just about a boy who wants a certain a certain girl more than anything and thinks that he can get her by giving her something (assuming a more grown up man role), however beng young he doesnt have much. When he talks about his mouse its just an awkward sort of conversation that kids have (i agree with the sexual meaning someone else said). I am abit baffled by the last lines but i can see as a segue into the musical ending that i think they wanted for a cool ending to the album. The last lines to show the boy wanting to do something over just giving her something so i think that is a reason for the triumphant sound that the last lines have. | |

what is a rocket? a rocket is something that gets you high (a joint may even resemble a rocket to someone with an imagination). when high he feels free and all the pressures of life are gone. "The moon is out, the stars invite I think I'll leave tonight" its a nice evening, he will leacve this world of worries and get high. "do you know i couldn't stay free?" he is whats "comming down". however he feels changed and wants to maintain the level of thought while i high "i shall be free from the voices inside me" he wants to follow his dreams and my favourite line is "dream of your own life" which i think is a good message especially now adays as our culture is more materialistic than ever. on a side note, this is the first song they played at their last show ( a very good version indeed). |
