this song is about someone who has tried to be successful (whatever that may resemble to them) for a long enough time and has ben used and abused by people without complaining and finally is just tired of such treatment and also tired of not making it to that goal. |

Cat Power – The Moon Lyrics

this makes me think of a guy i dated who i think is a fairly easily found type - he's known by many, flirts with many, make many feel they have his fullest love and friendship.. and when a person tried to actually get one on one with him and see who he is beyond that... it is found all that wonderfulness is really just a show. |

Flogging Molly – Screaming At The Wailing Wall Lyrics
| 17 years ago

the wailing wall is an actual wall in Jerusalem, and a very holy site for Jews.. many go there and feel their prayers go more directly to G-d. I think this song is about the US's anti-terrorism and also historical need for a scapegoat continuing - "once the communists and now the terrorists" - but also problems in the middle east, such as between Israel and the Palistineans and all the violence that goes on between them.
"I liberate your people's fate, spoke the burning bush" - the burning bush spoke to moses in exodus as the voice of G-d... but this also may be a reference to all people who suffer, wanting to be liberated
"But the song of beasts, drown their oil-soaked teeth
Their dollar is mighty and true" - talking about either Israel or the US, the middle east's bounty of oil, which some believe tp be the main reason for the US's various recent wars in the middle east
"Now the eagle soars the sky over refugee and child
And to all there is no end, another day in perfect hell" - the eagle represents the US clearly, and this seems to describe the war the US has started (especially in Iraq) and seems to be neverending and filled with suffering of the Iraqi people |

Alison Krauss – Restless Lyrics

I love this song. Favorite part of the song, mainly for the sound and maybe not necessarily the words: "But the one thing that I know when I turn out the light
Visions of you, dear, dance in the night"
but damn, this whole album is SO amazing. I just got it and can't stop listening to it. |

Johnny Cash – Ring of Fire Lyrics

I heard from a radio show that this song is actually about the sin of adultery. And it's true! Johnny Cash was married, and this other lady country singer (I forgot her name, but she's a BIG name!!) was married as well, and fell for each other. Cash wrote this song to show his love was also an acceptance of going to hell for such a sin, and the woman he loved had a version of the song as well. I think they ended up getting married later on. What an awesome story behind a song! |

This song is a clear statement against the materialistic culture of the USA, so enforced, it is introduced practically as soon as a person is born. I LOVE this song. |

I think Miss Misery is a recycling depression, whom the narrator is so commonly found with, it is like a lover. |
