Gary Jules – St. Christopher's Lullabye Lyrics | 19 years ago |
He's saying goodbye to someone and wishing them luck on the trip away from his life (St. Christopher is the patron saint of safe travel); where the person didn't have to wear a mask and pretend they were so great in front of him (the part about leaving the trophies and golden wings by the door of his room)...so now theyre going back out into the world where they have to pretend to be great to please the admiring crowd. Gary Jules is brilliant. |
Limp Bizkit – Break Stuff Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Limp has great beats...the only problem with them is the lyric quality and the way they make themselves seem like something greater than they are: for example:. this is from their blog "if there was a rallying of the limp believers would you participate under any circumstances and by all means necessary?" limp believers...like wtf guys at least Durst is hot I guess |
Blink-182 – Don't Lyrics | 19 years ago |
"And you can take off your disguise Cause I can see the truth that's hidden Behind your eyes " The person is hiding something and the other person (their gf/bf) can see it but still doesn't know what it is. "And all those words that you don't say just mean less and less each day you can't make me shed a tear ..." The words you don't say = the thing the person is hiding that will eventually make them grow apart or separate (they mean less and less each day) |
Treble Charger – Hole In Your Head Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It may be about a person who resorts to alcohol to drown their troubles (on the table is your only friend) yet they don't really want to give up/die...or literally go home to their troubles (you don't want to go home)...the guy in the song is telling the person nothing here (maybe the bar) can save you...but yet the person refuses to go home and whatever goes in through one end goes out the other (the hole in your head) |
Treble Charger – Soaker Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Soaker...probably about someone soaking in their self-pity/sulking...so much that they refuse to listen to anyone else ("all the things that youve mentioned kind of sink in the ground") |
Treble Charger – Trinity Bellwoods Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Most depressing song ever...very indie...depressing but not in a make me cry way...in a sort of nostalgic way. "and you say something kind but you dont say why and the best you can find is a well placed lie " "you might escape as to somehow find a way were not unlike in the words wed like to say " It's about how we always sugarcoat our words as to not offend anyone and we really want to say something else but don't say it even if we know the other person does to...whether it be to a friend, an old gf/bf...whatever. Trinity Bellwoods is the name of a park in Toronto Canada btw....so that's where the title comes from..."Trinity Bellwoods all around us" |
Treble Charger – Left Feeling Odd Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It's about an isolated dude who thinks he's alone and there's nothing he can do about it and the other person cant convince him otherwise "single out a reason [to make friends, stop isolating himself] he'll deny it's there" |
Treble Charger – Cubicle Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think it's about, as the title suggests, someone who has a monotone cubicle office job...and everyday is the same (the emptiness on his face) for them and no matter how much they work they probably will never get recognized for it and it's just all the same...another day |
Treble Charger – Dress Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This seems uncharacteristical for Treble Charger...but I think it's about a gay guy who tried to commit suicide "saw me once in a dress [obviously the majority of gay guys don't wear dresses], sleeping pills all the rest..." and someone found him and they're denying it happened "oh i cant believe you denied that" |
Sum 41 – In Too Deep Lyrics | 19 years ago |
It kind of has a sort of homosexual overtone (not thatit's necessarily bad) "I hate it when you fake it, you can't hide it, you might as well embrace it" Theres this kid at school...seems like a Church freak yet tries so hard to not appear gay (rumors)...same goes for this other gay kid who overdoes ghettoness |
Blink-182 – Freak Scene (Dinosaur Jr. cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
To Drink and Fight....actually Cheshire Cat came after Buddha, and is the one with the "revamped songs" While I agree with you in that I strongly prefer their older stuff...im not the type of person who runs around using the 12yr old terms of "poser" and "pop fake" plus, real fans stick to the end...the good and bad ;) |
