I agree with thedeparturefreak, this song is about Hollywood being over-rated. I think this song is told in the perspective of a support-actor who thought that fame was gonna be great, then it turns out that it isn't: "Covered in glitter, but I'm not shining / Like you do, maybe I could". I think also it's about him falling in love with the lead actress, and she spreads a load of rumours about him to the media, which is why he says "You stole my lips, and tangled them without intent / Kiss and tell the radio..." |

I agree with everybody who says this song is crap, because it is. I have nothing against the Cornish pasty that is Joss Stone but seriously Jack White gave it a kind of fantastically "ecstatic" element that Joss just can't. With this song Joss was only aiming to "show off" her vocal range and ability, whereas Jack White sings from the heart. |

The Greatest Hits Box Set from 2003 contained 3 discs: 1 CD of their greatest hits, 1 CD of acoustic versions of those songs and 1 DVD of the greatest hits videos. It's great if you don't know where to start with The Cure but it's too *HAPPY* lol this is like the only dark song on there. |

Placebo used this song as a filler during a live set (inbetween their songs 'Taste In Men' and 'Nancy Boy') I wasn't there at that gig but my friend ripped it onto a CD for me and it rocked! Just thought you'd like that little piece of trivia. I dunno whether there are any QOTSA fans who like Placebo, but I'm one! lol Anyway, both bands rule. End of story :) (And if you don't like Placebo, you should. They rule!) |

the video was featured on their greatest hits disc DVD from 2002 (?) soz I really need to check my dates about stuff lol anyway I heard that it's got something to do with comic books Robert used to read when he was younger, about *SPIDERMAN* and some guy with candystripe legs :) although this was from some article from like 1987 or summat lol |

I love this song. It's the first MCR song I ever heard when it came free on the Rock Sound CD for October (?) 2004. I then went out and bought the new album, then their first album. I think it's a fab way to end the album. The album should never have ended *sniffles* but it was a good way to end it 'coz it leaves you wanting more. |
