I think it is about the ovbious thing... Some one(maybe Brandon) in a state of total relaxation and peace " the worlds a roller coaster and I am not strapped in" he is free from everyday stessful life and does not have to worry about anything(doesn't have to worry about "holding on with care"). he is in the perfect place, on a beach, and everything is so beautiful and he just wishes that someone is there to share it with him If it is a specific person and who that is, we will never know (unless one of the writers tells us) But it is a great song As brain case stated it just puts you in a different state of mind, makes you feel like you are actually on the beach with the narrarator. the whole album does this to you. Even though a lot of it is loud and distiorted it is just so relaxing to listen to. It is written so well and exceptionally produced. It is a must have album for anyone who is a fan of music Listen to the whole album start to finish and you will understand what I am talking about |

I agree with everything that has been said (I read every singe previous comment by the way, Ha! By The Way RCHP song also, he he) A song can have more than one meaning you know. As Bob Dylan one said when he was asked about the meaning of one of his songs, "what does it mean to you". this is one of those types of songs that can mean many different things. It is just how one interprets the song. Use your imagination, it will make it more enjoyable. The first post, Javen. Thats a frekin awesome analogy of this song. It gives me shivers to read what you have written because it applies to the song sooooooooo well and because that is such a cool topic. Could it also be how mankind has affected the earth? Also Peppers Prophet's interpretation is rediculously good. Man, how did you think of that!? all of it! It is soooo true! you really are the "Peppers Prophet" I am a musician too so I totally understand what you are saying! I hope someone reads this because I read all of your rediculously long comments! P.S. THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS ARE ABSOLUTELY THE GREATEST BAND ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH!!!!!! p.p.s. especially with John Fruchante, he brings so much to the table musically, unlike Dave Navarro.
