For me, this song is just like most of you have interpreted. When I was going through a dark time in my life with depression and anxiety, it felt like the pain would never go away. My doctor told me it would get better and that I would be fine. My family told me the same thing. However when you're in that moment of despair, it seems like no matter what anyone says, it will never be fine. It will never be fine until you're cold on the inside. I know now that life moves on and things get better in the end, but when you are in the middle of that dark place, this is the only song I can thing of that would accurately describe this.
Also, the fact that he was 13 when he wrote this song just breaks my heart. No child should ever have to feel this way. |

But I believe this song is about a break up. This girl is completely dedicated to this guy and she sincerely cares about him and loves him. After all this guys mistakes in his life and his relationship with this girl he finally realizes it's time to give something back to her. He breaks up with her to show her the better life that she showed him. It hurts both of them deeply, but for once he's not being selfish. It may be hard, but this is a song about his love that he is now giving back to her. |

I think in this song, Miss World, is coming to terms with herself, while at the same time looking for attention, someone or something to help her out. She understands herself alone is the reason for her feeling this way. She's facing it, and although it hurts she's willing to the blame. Full responsibility, even if it's too late for anyone to care. |

I don't know how I feel about the meaning of this song quite yet. Even with out lyrics, the music to this song brings out it's own emotions. I love it.
I see how people can assume this song is about drugs, but more so, I believe it's about a girl. Maybe even both subjects.
He's hurt, struggling, confused and trying to make a difference. At the end, he finally realizes he needs to make a change, get away, and make things okay again.

I think the meaning of this song is like the song title, "Seen it All."
The lyrics, to me at least, is basically like the opening up of a person. The lyricist tells how he felt, how he feels, and what he did, and what he done. He's trying to let go of the past and his mistakes by burying it deep inside him, but the thought still remains the same. The hurt doesn't go away, and becomes unseen to others.
Basically he's been there, and he's done that. |

This is such a great song. The 90s was a great time for music, unlike that stuff MTV is playing now about stupid and pointless things like "Bling" and what size rims you have on your car. Thats bullshit, and this song is reality, and it's bullshit b/c no one deserves that. My parents separtated when I was around 8 years old, and divorced when I was 10. I didn't understand much because I was young, but every year that I get older, I realize it does affect me in even the smallest ways, and I know that I'll never be normal or 100% okay because of that. I'm 16 now. The divorce is harder on me now than it was when I was 10. Sometimes I'm ashamed to admit that it hurts so much now, because it's been almost 6 years. I don't know. It's songs like these that state what you feel and help you get through things like this. Everclear is great. |

Yes this song is about Tracy Marander. He wrote it when she questioned why he wrote songs about everything else in the world, but nothing about her. It's Nirvana's 1st love song. The, "But I can't see you every night" line refers to Kurt not having a job, and Tracy was threatening to kick him out if he didn't start looking for one, because she was fending for both of them. |

But it's also kind of sad in a way, because Weezer always has a tendency, even in their heartbroken songs, there's always something in them that gives hope of something better, or comfort in knowing that you're gonna be okay. I don't know, this song kind of gives off some of that feeling, like there is some better place out there from where our lives are currently at right now. Pretty much this is a great song. This is not only my favorite Weezer song, but my favorite song in general. It's a truly beautiful song. Great lyrics, and that guitar solo at the end just rips your heart out, it's great. This song is obviously about a relationship and I'm sure that we can all relate to this song at one point or another. But if you look past the relationship meaning of the song, think about it, "Only In Dreams" just that title can mean so much more. There's so many things that you can mean, feel, want, or wish, that can only happen in dreams. This has to be one of the best Weezer songs by far. |

"Teenage angst has paid off well, now I'm bored and old." -Refering to Kurt changing, growing up, leaving the Teenage angst behind, and also refering to the Nevermind days.
"Self Appointed judges judge more than they have sold." -I read in a book about Kurt this line was about the record label.
"If she floats than she is not a witch like we thought" -Refering to Courtney, and possibly the media's interpretation of her, saying hey, maybe she's really not that bad.
"Serve the servants, that legendary divorce is such a bore." -This is refering to how the media always uses the divorce as a reference to a song, or something Kurt has done. Basically blaming the divorce for every action he makes. Also It's just saying Kurt is over the divorce, its done with.
"I just want you to know that I,
don't hate you anymore.
There is nothing I could say,
That I haven't thought before." -This part is obviously about Kurts dad. If you read his Journals, Kurt wrote about this line of the song saying that this means that he doesn't hate his dad anymore, he loves him, he just doesn't want to talk to him. Thats what Kurt said.

I think everyone can relate to this song though. I had an experience a while ago, my parents dropped me off at my grandparents to go out, I had to spend the night there, I had mashed potatoes, wanted to go home, I didn't hurt my toe but I did hurt my finger, I watched TV, fell asleep, and woke up in my mothers arms. It was so wierd. haha. My first words that morning when I woke up was "Nirvana" lol.
Anyways, The song itself is quite self explanitory. It's a fun song with a great musical sound. The name "Sliver" does confuse alot of people! For the longest time I thought it was called "Silver" I then figured out it wasnt, felt like a dumbass, told my friend, he said "wow, I've been wrong for the past 6 years" He thought it was silver too. I'm sure theres tons of people that Kurt tricked with the word and they feel like dumbasses too. haha. |

This is one of my favorites off of Nevermind. Kurt only slept under the bridge on night out of his entire life. Some people make it out to be 3 days to a week, but it was really only one night. I'm going to say this song is about that night, or The entire song is just one big metaphor to something else. Either way, I agree you should take it as you want to take it. My favorite line is "Something in the way.." Kurt sings it so beautifully, with meaning. That line could be meaning that something is in the way, but you just don't know what. But that something is holding you back from moving on, and getting things back together. Great song. |
