probably one of my favorite all time songs. more so for my own associations and sentiments and for the chord progressions and melody. this was my first exposure to the miracle of 86, and the mix that this was on that introduced me was made by one of the more important people to me in my life to this point yet. i wish i still got to see him semi-often, but, i don't anymore. also, i just love how the line "you make me want to forget what other people look like, at least for tonight." sits on the tongue. |

this is one of the most clear bright eyes songs to me ever. i can feel the passion in his voice and feel i know exactly what he means by every phrase, even though its hard to explain it outwardly in words. especially the mention of music vs. math, which i take as the difference between making love, and fucking; which is the heart of the whole song. |

| i was at molluskfest in eastern mass this past winter with my friend jessi and my roomate. one of the bands was like a 2 person deal--acoustic & vocals...towards the end of their set they covered this song... jessi and i took it upon ourselves to take care of the background vocals/screams, and it was gorgeous. beautiful song. | |
