Fiona Apple – Better Version of Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
The two songs that leaked are so ironic in this whole situation... "Ooh mister wait until you see What I plan to be I've got a plan to demand and it just began And if you're right, you'll agree Here's coming a better version of me" It's a better version of Fiona but Sony's too dumb to see it. My brother even likes it and he hates my music. He said it's unique anf funky. That it is artistic. But alas, to Sony, artistic does not sell. |
Rob Thomas – Lonely No More Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love Rob Thomas and MB20 but I hope the new album is better then this song alone. It's catchy and fun and all but it's not Rob. *sniffle* |
Rosie Thomas – Wedding Day Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love this song. I agree ILYhahajk. It makes me want to get up and leave too. She's had her heart broken but she isn't going to allow it to change her, she is still going to live and take chances and have fun. I love how she compares it to her wedding day. For most, that is the best day of their life, but to her, everyday will be like her wedding day. |
Rosie Thomas – I Run Lyrics | 19 years ago |
No one's commented on this song yet? It's amazing. |
Britney Spears – Toxic Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Check out Tristan Prettyman's acoustic cover of this. Very good. http://www.tristanprettyman.com/music_dl.htm |
Ani DiFranco – 32 Flavors Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Baskin Robbins has 32 flavors, right? Or is it 31? I agree with many others that the metaphors in this song are pure genius. :) |
Creedence Clearwater Revival – Have You Ever Seen the Rain? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I heard it was about his brother leaving the band. He left when they were at the height of their success. "Have you ever seen the rain Comin' down on a sunny day?" |
Creedence Clearwater Revival – Run Through the Jungle Lyrics | 19 years ago |
CCR’s other songs “Who’ll stop the Rain” and “Fortunate Son” were other songs protesting the war. The US population during the Vietnam War was about two hundred million. “Two hundred million guns are loaded” could have something to do with the fact that America is so trigger happy, and jumps into things too quickly with too much force. |

Natalie Merchant – San Andreas Fault Lyrics | 19 years ago |
She's used an excellent metaphor for how delicate fame and dreams are and how reality can tear them down. |
Natalie Merchant – Frozen Charlotte Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Some old porcelain dolls were called “Frozen Charlotte” dolls because they were stiff and not bendable at the joints. One thought was that this song was about abuse. “Blue…Black…Still…Silent” So she left, maybe died, or just left the relationship. But even though she left ugly, she was beautiful once and will be again and wants to be remembered that way. (“Late blooming flowers lie frozen underneath the stars… Spring keeps her promises/No cold can keep her back”) I don’t know, maybe it’s just my dour take on the song. :) |
Natalie Merchant – Seven Years Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is supposedly about her parent’s divorce. It’s a beautiful view of how, when you are young, your parents are everything to you. |
