Tom Waits – That Feel Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this song could apply really to well to a drug addiction, i think, but it is too multifaceted to really pin down like that. |
David Bowie – Ziggy Stardust Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Ziggy played guitar" is the best thing Bowie ever wrote. I really like the way that he starts the song by saying that, and then lets that linger and sink in for just a second before going on, and then ends it with that thought once again. The album is about the rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust, of course. But with that line it is like Bowie is saying that no matter what the person is like, it's just his music we will be left with. |
Elton John – All The Girls Love Alice Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't care what they say, this song is about Alice Cooper. Even if it is obviously about a female lesbian prostitute, it's still about the man. |
Tenacious D – Dude (I Totally Miss You) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The most underrated song on PoD. |
Harry Chapin – Cats In The Cradle Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Britbart, nobody denies that. The son isn't dissapointed, he just thinks his dad is the greatest guy in the world and wants to be like him, not really even noticing that his dad is never there for him. His dad is always proud of him, but is going to be dissapointed that his son can't take the time to see him. His dad's feelings are bittersweet, he's proud of his son but his son also helped him see his own faults as a father. |
Bruce Springsteen – Thunder Road Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song. It is absolutely gorgeous, a true piece of American history. There is one problem with the lyrics though: And I know you're lonely and there's words that I ain't spoken Is actually: And I know you're lonely for words that I ain't spoken I know it's only a minor thing, but it really changes the meaning of that line. |
Bruce Springsteen – Jungleland Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Beneath the city two hearts beat Soul engines running through a night so tender In a bedroom locked In whispers of soft refusal And then surrender In the tunnels uptown The Rat's own dream guns him down As shots echo down them hallways in the night No one watches when the ambulence pulls away Or as the girl shuts out the bedroom light I always thought that passage was saying something about a guy asking a girl to have sex, and she doesn't want to. She surrenders, and that is why she is turning out the light, while Rat gets shot. |
Nine Inch Nails – Adrift and at Peace Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Still is the greatest NIN album yet. |
Alice Cooper – How You Gonna See Me Now Lyrics | 19 years ago |
God, I love this song so much. This is the song that keeps me from starting drugs or anything like that, I just keep thinking: What would my loved ones, more specifically my girlfriend, think? |
