Carissa's Wierd – So You Want to be a Superhero? Lyrics | 16 years ago |
One of my top CW songs. I think it's about what goes on when a depressive tries to fall asleep at night. The first part is about just lying in bed, not having any motivation to go to sleep because tomorrow will just suck as much as today. The second verse is about the desperation of loneliness and wanting to give up trying to lead a normal life. And finally the last is dreaming/fantasizing about being someone better, someone people can look up to and that you yourself can aspire to... even though it's just a dream. (the 'I might be leaving soon' repetition is blatantly thoughts of suicide and/or one's consciousness giving 'way to sleep) |
The Good Life – Heartbroke Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Some corrections: "you stop stopping by to say hello You started starting up each time I phone" "That being said I rarely do" "you like him he's a lot like you" Oh you'll always be Heartbroke. |
Carissa's Wierd – You Should Be At Home Here Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Dear and the Headlights – Grace Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Great song about truth and love. "Cause nothing stays honest when Every thought is cursed with intent" |
Kind of Like Spitting – I Want Out Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"I want to kiss you somethin' pure, give you a shake that you can't ignore" How emotional! It sounds like he's just trapped in this relationship, whether it's an official relationship or just in his head he's in love with someone who's just taking all his love and throwing it away but he still can't help it... |
The Good Life – Days of the Week Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Where might you have found this eh..? |
Carissa's Wierd – All Apologies And Smiles, Yours Truly, Ugly Valentine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
My favourite song by Carissa's Wierd, to me its about two people who like or have liked eachother and they've kind of tried to have a relationship but it just wouldn't work, something held them back or they just weren't a good fit. "maybe it's time to let go probably doesn't even weigh that much now so i'll drop it" so now he's just giving up and saying 'hey I'm just now realizing that I'm working for something I don't even want anymore.' I think at the same time they've given up on a relationship they realize they'll always care about eachother and in that they're perfect and ugly valentines and in the meantime, they'll just have fun as friends. |
S – Falling Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Perhaps my favourite song by S. I think it's about someone who wants something and in getting what they want it hurts someone they don't want to. So they're stuck between doing what is right and what is true to them, and doing what is best for other people. And at the end they just decide to leave cuz that way they can have no part in anything. And they're asking for forgiveness in every being a part to begin with. In that, I can relate.... |
MC Lars – The Roommate from Hell (feat. MC Chris) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"but college is like Salem, all these bitches be so smokin'" Beautiful. |
The Jim Yoshii Pile Up – Shark Repellant Lyrics | 18 years ago |
freakin' awesome song. I think I know what it's like, to be so depressed over this girl you're so close to, yet so far away, like the words you don't choose to say is exactly what's keeping you apart. if only we could get our head off the pillow and own up to our feelings or the truth and tell them, then things might start looking up... |
Cursive – Bad Sects Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I made the correct changes, but I'm 99.9% sure it's "We woke to the chimes and the bells of the steeple And ran off to separate rooms" so I left it. Thanks for the other corrections though. |
Cursive – Dorothy at Forty Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree with redjesus, now the question is, what the heck does he say after that? |
Cursive – At Conception Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I'm thinkin' her name would be "Jeanie" not Genie, that's a mythical spirit. there are two other minor typing mistakes but whatev thanks for posting this. My favourite song on this album I think. |
Tim Kasher – Split Identities Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"Don’t trust what you cannot touch Because if it feels like love You just drank too much" sweet song if I do say so myself.. |

Cursive – Nonsense Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I decided this is my favourite song out of all of Cursive's discography. In the beginning just listen to the instruments and the mess of sound they make. I think this song is about how no matter what he sings about, we already know he's a dick. It's almost like we'll just translate his nonsense into whatever we've predecided about him. But at the same time he thinks he is a dick cuz that's how his songs have went before and that's what we expect of him, therefore he steps into the trap of his old lyrics and preconceptions. That's my take on it anyway... maybe that's because I'm in a similar situation where people are judging me even though they don't have any real basis for it other than they're own biased opinions. PS. the "do do do do do do do doo, ba da ba babaa" is him showing that he can even sing real nonsense and it still translates to ImaDick. |
Get Him Eat Him – Shirt Like a Couch Lyrics | 18 years ago |
What can I say? This is my favourite some of theirs.. so far. |
Thursday – Telegraph Avenue Kiss (Demo) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I made the appropriate corrections. You've got a good ear. I should've noticed some of those lyrics earlier. |
Thursday – Telegraph Avenue Kiss (Demo) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Basically to me this song is about using someone else, but it's not horrible but you do really love them for it... there were two spots where I didn't know what he said, if anyone does, I'd welcome the input. |
Portugal. The Man – Stables And Chairs Lyrics | 18 years ago |
"behind hands arms lift into it's own" I don't even know what that means but it's def. my favourite line! |

Beautiful song. This guy has a lot of talent (singing). |
The Good Life – Tell Shipwreck I'm Sorry Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I believe it's off a split/compilation, well I know it's one of those, it's not off an actual album. anyway. this is absolutely my favourite song by Kasher, lyrically at least. It's just beautiful. If these lyrics could be a painting I'd have it on my wall. |
Coheed and Cambria – Shameless Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Well it sounds different than other coheed songs, because it's not Coheed. It's the same group under a different name (Shabutie) before Coheed was formed. Though the topic is still fictional it might not have anything to do with the story of Coheed and Cambria. |
The Flaming Lips – The Spark That Bled Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is personally my favourite song off of Soft Bulletin, I just love the first and last paragraphs. I feel like I can relate, even though I don't really know what he's trying to say. heh. |
Commander Venus – Do You Feel at Home? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Both Conor Oberst and "Tim Kasher" of Cursive and The Good Life sing in the band, in this song it's mostly Conor, as with most of the songs, if you want to hear Kasher listen to Lock 'n' Chase. |
