Surely the most beautiful song I've ever heard in my life.

My Bloody Valentine – Soft as Snow (But Warm Inside) Lyrics 18 years ago
The sexuality of this song is up there with Nine Inch Nails' "Closer". Musically, even moreso. I love it.

The Blood Brothers – The Salesman, Denver Max Lyrics 18 years ago
Fucking disturbing song--just because bastards like Denver Max exist. ....but I still love it (the song.) The Blood Brothers are so... amazing!

Sonic Youth – Schizophrenia Lyrics 18 years ago
The meaning is ridiculously obvious, it's so blunt. Geez. Anyone can interpret it, stop trying.

I love this song more than I love... small children.

The Decemberists – The Mariner's Revenge Song Lyrics 19 years ago
I like how Colin makes the narator eventually lose his mind to his obsession with revenge. He obsesses so long over it that it becomes part of him, and he personifies this trait of him with his mother. His mother is his other personality, as he is skitzephrenic. It's truely wonderful. (See: the tenth paragraph, second line)

The Blood Brothers – My First Kiss at the Public Execution Lyrics 19 years ago
To add to what's been said,
The carnival's glossy ghosts
zebra-painted horses parade
the cotton candy prostitutes
caramel apple corpses singing:
"Just this way to the neon orange gallows!
Tonight we tie the noose around the killer's collar!
Watch him play his wind pipe organ!"
completely glamorizes all of this apparent wrong. Anyways, I always think of this grand carnival where everyone's dancing and cheering and woohoo like they cheered the death of the martyrs and gladiators at the Coleseum.

I definitely agree with kittyNAR and everone else.

Bob Dylan – Idiot Wind Lyrics 19 years ago
The Bootleg series version of this is really what made me truely fall in love with Bob Dylan. I liked him a lot; after hearing the bootleg version, I loved him.

Bob Dylan – Ballad of a Thin Man Lyrics 19 years ago
to add to what rdagger (whom I agree with most) is saying, the Lumberjacks in this song are the media, on more than one. They cut people down, and they cut trees down for their paper. Very amazing metaphor from our boy Bob.

Wilco – More Like The Moon Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is so relaxing

It's like being at the ocean alone with your love at sunset.

Beck – Hell Yes Lyrics 19 years ago
jmujkano, what you said would be true if he hadn't released every album he released prior to Sea Change. But he did.

Anyways, if you haven't listened to Odelay or ignore that Odelay exists, this is a great song. It's very groovy.

Also (sorry for leaving 3 bloody comments) do you think there's any significance to the fact that there are 9 parts?

The Fiery Furnaces – Blueberry Boat Lyrics 19 years ago
When I hear this song I always expect him to say she was "waiting to die". I kinda like it that way.

Beck – Ghettochip Malfunction (Hell Yes 8-Bit Remix) Lyrics 19 years ago
...I think the second verse is about presidential elections and such. Everyone's listening to the news and seeing who to vote for (the news is telling them to who to vote for) And they celebrate their choice and amplify it.

The rest of the song is about his new sound. The nintendo sound... (awesome sound)

Hell Yess!

this song is perfectly on key with the dial tone on my phone. I wonder if they did that on purpose..

Radiohead – Worrywort Lyrics 19 years ago
I think it's more like, "don't dwell on the past, because it's a beautiful day, and you're still sad because of that."

I love how Regine's voice sounds like water. That makes the song what it is

The Fiery Furnaces – Chief Inspector Blancheflower Lyrics 19 years ago
second favorite on the album.

Thing that you want ‘cept I started seeing Jenny:
I started seeing Jenny.
My Jenny?
And he looked down at the floor.
You know damn well she ain’t your Jenny no more.
And I said Get her on the phone.
Don’t you think it’s a little late?
No I don’t think it’s a little late.

I love that dialogue; and I also love Matthew and Lenore's dialogue towards the end. So clever!

The Fiery Furnaces – Blueberry Boat Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is so self-explanitory! I love it so much!! Lenore is the captain...they encounter pirates...they kill Lenore! It's such a nice story and the music is perfect

Interpol – The New Lyrics 19 years ago
I thought the last lines said:
They're looking away tonight
I think we should go

I love they way interpol make the emotion real with the last 2 and 1/2 minutes.

eiirp represents the conception-birth. when is fetus is in good shape, doctors always say "everything is in its right place" and, if you think about it, it makes since.. everything .. in its right place.

Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is sooo incredible. Will sings with emotion!! hearing him sing makes you feel the song. the line "then we tried to name our babies, but we forgot all the names that, the names we used to know" is sung so perfectly! love this song

Sigur Rós – Untitled 1 Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is the most depressing song I've ever heard in my life, but it's also the most beautiful song I've ever heard in my life, too. Full of meaning and metaphors--even if there are no words in it.
Sigur ros is one of the only bands who can pull that sort of thing off: making a song with no lyrics have meaning.

Radiohead – Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is awesome. One complaint, though. The end has basically the exact same ending as Pyramid Song, the song before it on the album. It's just cut up. It's not in the right place on the album. The lyrics are very simple, but seem to be very very deep. Great interpretation Drealoth!

Green Day – American Idiot Lyrics 19 years ago
concidering the context of the song, I think that the redneck agenda line is satiritacal.

Bob Dylan – One of Us Must Know (Sooner or Later) Lyrics 19 years ago
--No wait. Scratch that. I think it's about a girl who had a strong crush on him and he didn't realize it. She tried to tell him, but he didn't hear her. (second verse) So she got so upset she killed herself.

submissions
Bob Dylan – One of Us Must Know (Sooner or Later) Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song is about a girl that he (the narrator) has had a long relationship with, then he sinced it was ending (or started to have feelings for another girl.. or was cheating on her) so he broke up with her. Then she was so sad she killed herself. The chorus is kind of the narrator rationalizing his actions or looking at it from her side of the story.

submissions
The Flaming Lips – Feeling Yourself Disintegrate Lyrics 19 years ago
incredible song. I think Wayne wrote it about his dad dying. It kind of parallels with Waiting For A Superman. It's really a positive reflective song.

The Flaming Lips – All We Have Is Now Lyrics 19 years ago
