Cake – Frank Sinatra Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Actually I think the ancient radiation that haunts dismembered constellations is a refrence to old stars dying (how do you dismember a constellation: you lose one of the stars) and the faintly glimmering radio station is becuase some of the static that you hear on the radio is radiation from old stars. But I like the other interpertation too. As for what the song is about, I think it's about people who forget about the past and how sad that is. Images of Frank Sinatra (an old time singer) and the old man who saves what others throw away seem to refer to that, in my opinion. |

I saw it in Berkeley last night too and when he played it at Coachella. I agree with the eating disorder interpertation mainly because Conor has mentioned not eating and being skinny and throwing up after eating in several other songs (i.e. Neely O'Hara) |

Such a good song. He's only played it live but it has the great lines "I have my drugs I have my woman they keep away my loneliness My parents, they have their religions But sleep in seperate houses" Sooooo brilliant And at the end of the song they always rock out like crazy. I'ts fucking amazing!! |

Best song on the album! I love the line, I watch the pole dance of the stars since the stars in the sky all spin around the North star (the pole star) during the night. So it's a really beautiful image of watching the stars all night long but also really dirty in a way cause it's a "pole" dance. Super awesome! |
