This song is confusing. I like it, but it's confusing. The first part, on the surface, is pretty self-explanatory. When I heard it, I just thought he was singing about how valuable love is and how we shouldn't let it go to waste. But then he paints himself as a beggar, and the next part is basically about finding Jesus (which, I'm assuming, is where the title 'Christmas Present') comes in. Then, in the last verse, he talks about judgement day? They seem like they're completely unconnected songs. So if anyone takes time to listen to this song and try to understand it can you please explain it to me. :-) |

I find it hard to believe that this song, even though it is primarily about off-roading and all that good stuff, has no sexual messages. "How about a test drive" - referring to sex in the backseat of his new car "We can try out the four wheel drive" - come on "Grab a sleeping bag or two" - obvious "Get a little mud on the tires" - You know... I like this song as much as the next guy, but you can't deny that there are sexual references. |
