My Chemical Romance – I'm Not Okay (I Promise) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
oh and one more. it's not "thier", even. it's "their" yeah. work on it. |
My Chemical Romance – I'm Not Okay (I Promise) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
loop-to-loop... i hate to spoil your party, but while rampaging other's grammar, you lost your own battle. "btw, bitchface, use correct grammer (it's actually "grammar"). When you are adressing ("addressing") people and saying something that belongs to them you say "thier" not "there", einstien. (and it's actually "einstein") " i'd be a bit more careful with your namecalling. |
Cat Power – Willie Deadwilder Lyrics | 18 years ago |
this is one of the most gorgeous songs... i'm so glad it's 18 minutes long, it's so hypnotic and gorgeous. i love it. so sincere, so everything. i love the quality of chan's voice in it... and i love the guitar riff throughout. yeah. sweet. |

to the beat of the gestetner -- what's that? i love this song |
The Beatles – Getting Better Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think it's about what it sounds. The guy used to be angry, frustrated, and chasing himself in circles until he met this girl. The girl transformed him as he fell in love with her, and all those problems just seemed to slip away as life just felt like it was getting better and better. Definitely can relate to this one. |
Stevie Wonder – Don't You Worry 'bout A Thing Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i've got to admit... this song is so contagiously funky, wonderful, awesome, as;dlfkja;sldkfj. i've been singing it all day. and for the past couple weeks. infectious. |
A.C. Newman – Come Crash Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I absolutely love this song, I can't believe no one has commented yet. I think it's pretty self explanitory - a car wreck, and the lovers are really happy that they're just alive. In the first stanza, though, I know it's supposed to be "sirens came after we left" not salvage |
Copeland – Hold Nothing Back Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song made me cry the first time i heard it it still does, to this day. |
Joni Mitchell – Chelsea Morning Lyrics | 19 years ago |
what a perfect song. i sing it in my sleep, i love it so much. her voice, everything, it's perfect. |
PJ Harvey – A Place Called Home Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i think this song is simply about not feeling that there is a place for you yet, knowing that there will be someday, but still searching. also, i think it has to do with a romantic other - one day they'll have the right relationship, even if it's not in sight now. i think it's about the search to belong, despite everything good going on "and i'm right on time, and the birds keep singing..." etc i think its also looking forwards in time and thinking how someday she may be domesticated and not just freelancing around living a wild youth or whatever. one day, she'll settle down and have a place where she really belongs. one day there'll be a place called home. |

just wow. wow. wow. that's all. wow. |
Pedro the Lion – Rapture Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I think this song is about sex with a girl in a hotel that he probably knows very little, using as many Christian/religious allusions as possible to try to convey the idea that the sex was so good, so close to what god could be. The line of "pity that it's not my wife" I think is simply referring to the idea in the bible that extramarital intercourse is a no-no, and so the fact that he's doing this girl in a hotel is just too bad. "The bitter pill yet undiscovered" I think refers to whatever problems ensue when they wake up lying next to eachother, tying into the "we've gone too far" - something must have gone wrong even though the sex was good. He also write about "Gideon in the drawer", as in the Gideon Bible. My idea is that he possibly was inspired by seeing the Gideon in there while waiting for her to clean up or something, and there was a connection between the "righteousness" of the book and the sex, like rapture (going to heaven finally when Jesus comes... orgasmic much?) "I hear Jesus calling me home" then it goes on with: We've gone too far We've done too much We have to quit it Just one more kiss Just one more touch Please 10 more minutes" In this, I think their consciousness are getting in the way, something's just not right. They want to stop in their brains, but their bodies say no... can anyone blame them? "Calling me to enter the promise land." promised land... just think. end of story. ta da. |
Hellogoodbye – Jesse Buy Nothing... Go to Prom Anyways Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i wish someone would ask me to prom with this song. that would be too entirely badass. oh yes. anyway, hillarious song. can't help but dance while listening to it. |
The Decemberists – Red Right Ankle Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i woke up singing this song this morning it's so gorgeous this band is one of the most literary bands out there these days. the lyrics are so prolific and gorgeous, it's more like prize poetry than just your typical song lyrics... so their music gets further enhanced by how absolutely incredible their words are |
Bright Eyes – Easy/Lucky/Free Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i think its a political statement against the people who wage war in america, and the unconcerned public. i sense a deep sarcasm in the whole thing |

Bright Eyes – Kathy with a K's Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i don't mind if he copied john lennon. i absolutely adore john lennon (he was even my first big crush when i was little, starting when i was 4 and continuing until forever...) and so anyone worthy who takes a lead from senor lennon is hopefully better from it. and the moment building up to 3:25 in the song.. oh god... chills. i first heard it through headphones in a coffeeshop in my town, and i could hardly swallow the food i was eating. i was so stunned, i could barely move myself. gives me hope. |
Nada Surf – Blonde On Blonde Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Randy Newman – Baltimore Lyrics | 19 years ago |
what a gorgeous song. |
Ben Folds Five – Julianne Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i think this song is actually just about a nowhere relationship, a stupid one night stand when she happened up at his house when they got drunk. nothing even happend, but she got emotionally attatched and bitchy. and he feels bad because it never meant anything to him, and is just trying to get rid of her because she is too much for him |
Nada Surf – Happy Kid Lyrics | 19 years ago |
ultimate teenage anthem. |
Nellie McKay – Sari Lyrics | 19 years ago |
wow. kaleidoscope. ease up. shes not pretending to be a rapper. shes not trying to be ghetto shes just not "singing", and experimenting with other styles. it's not like rapping is really exclusive, like other people can't talk their lyrics instead of try to sing them. sorry shes not ghetto or black, but i hate to break it to you... your rappers have their stuff memorized too. |
Nellie McKay – Respectable Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is an anthem to me. |
Ben Folds Five – One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces Lyrics | 19 years ago |
this song is basically the story of my life... when i was little i was convinced i was going to be famous someday, and kids were really mean to me... so i'd stand in my bathroom and rehearse what i'd say on dave letterman (yes, i watched letterman when i was 6), and the speech basically was this song. "kelly and chandler jones, you were so mean to me in first grade. i hope you never make anyone else cry. you'd better be sorry because i'm famous now." oh, kiss my ass goodbye ben = incredible. beeen quite a fan for quite a time now. |
Sondre Lerche – No One's Gonna Come Lyrics | 19 years ago |
oh man, this song. it is incredible. i love it. |
Guster – Happier Lyrics | 19 years ago |
its about something we've all gone through... we change, our friends depress us, we can't take their shit anymore and stop being with them. this song is like the climactic au-revoir to the selected individuals whos friendshiptime has run out. |

Sondre Lerche – Sleep On Needles Lyrics | 19 years ago |
man.. uh.. sarah darlin... no one has said "hottie" since 7th grade, and incidentally, really, music isnt about looks... its about music... you cant see what they look like when you're listening to a cd. if you're going for their looks, you should be ashamed, darling... simmer, it'll be okay. great song, by the way.. |
Sondre Lerche – Modern Nature Lyrics | 19 years ago |
saehn-dreh lurk-eh |
Sondre Lerche – Dead Passengers Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i saw him talk about it, and he said that it was from a newspaper in norway he was reading. the story was about these carjacking murderers who townspeople were trying to defend, saying that they were mere "cold blooded murderers" and no one should bother about them, disregarding that they themselves could be killed by them. |
Something Corporate – (Hurricane) The Formal Weather Pattern Lyrics | 19 years ago |
his voice initially really annoyed me, but they've grown on me. the band is quite a bit poppy, but i can deal. it's catchy, it's groovy to listen to. and i disagree with mymy_d, i think this song is quite simple to understand. it's about him being in love with this girl, someone who means so much to him, for better or for worse, someone who makes him react so strongly.. and the metaphor of a hurricane is supposed to be like the power she has over him, his head-over-heelsness he has for her... yet she is confusing, like all females (and i'm a female, i'm allowed to say that), and he's trying to figure out how to make her happy, how to follow through and make her his. yeah. |
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists – Little Dawn Lyrics | 19 years ago |
agreed. the "it's alright" is very comforting. |
