Hanson – Strong Enough To Break Lyrics

jessay, i agree entirely. i was very proud to hear this song and read the lyrics, because it shows what they're capable of. unfortunately, songs like "a song to sing" aren't happening anymore.. |

Hanson – Believe Lyrics

i can laugh all i want. i get that it's about depression, but i think it does a very disappointing job of being articulate about it. i think that "birds in the trees just make me depressed / seeing sunny skies, feeling emptiness" sounds horribly stupid, as do the generic line "but this bird was meant to fly away." i love the melody of the song, and i adore hanson, but i am allowed to laugh at them when they write such weak lyrics. |

i like this song. it makes light of an interesting phenomenon. growing up, and growing out of being a "household name." it's well-written too. |

this song got me through my first year of college. it's really sad that people cannot appreciate a good, happy pop song anymore. |

Ben Lee – Begin Lyrics

i believe this song is about the days when you go outside, and it's sunny and everyone seems to be pleasant, and you're just walking around reflecting on life and people you have loved, and you're looking forward to the rest of your life. |

Ben Lee – Something Borrowed, Something Blue Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
well, the "something borrowed, something blue" phrase is obviously referring to the wedding tradition. i think it's repeated because their love has become repetitive and like a tradition rather than exciting and new. he's coming to the point where he is realizing that, although his life "begins and ends" with her (she is all he can remember in his life), it's not going to work. he has to, and NEEDS to, leave her "on the interstate." |

Tegan and Sara – I Won't Be Left Lyrics
|
in a bootleg, one of them said they were talking to their dad on the phone (who is divorced from their mom) and he was listening to a song that he used to listen to with their mom, or something. and tegan/sara was thinking, "how could he do that?" that's what "i won't be left dancing alone to songs from the past" is from. |

Hanson – Penny And Me Lyrics
|
blew flame, thank god for people like you, who give them a chance.
i believe taylor said that this song is about hearing a song, when you hear a song it makes you think of a certain time in your life. in this case, his time with "penny". |

Hanson – MMMBop Lyrics
|
almost ten years ago, hanson wrote the chorus to this song as a BACKGROUND part for a different song. that's why it's jargon, so get a clue. i'd like to see any of you, in your preteens, write (AND SING, AND PLAY INTSRUMENTS TO) a song that became a worldwide hit. so shove it.
its been SEVEN YEARS since mmmbop was released, and about nine since it was written.
do you think maybe, just maybe, the music has changed? |

definitely one of their strongest songs lyrically, and taylor rips your heart out with the vocals. it's breathtaking. |

Melissa Etheridge – Enough Of Me Lyrics

yep. :(
wasn't she with julie at this time though? i believe that's why she wrote "my beloved" -- because most of the songs on breakdown portrayed their relationship as breaking down. |

Tom Petty – Free Fallin' Lyrics
|
umm. obviously she's a good girl. it says so in the first freaking line. but in response to spontaneity, i really think that's what it was. he came up with the first two lines and built a story out of that. good girl easily brings up the idea of a bad boy. the end. |
