Imogen Heap – Hide and Seek Lyrics

my favourite imagery in this song has to be -
"Oily marks appear on walls
Where pleasure moments hung before" - It's so honest. Pictures of happier moments in the relationship which is now no more are, effectively, reduced to stains on the wall. On the subject of instrumentation in the song I was always under the impression the entire song was just Imogen through a vocoder. A friend of mine used a similar technique to this by just layering up vocals, makes it all the more poignant i guess... |

Stellastarr* – My Coco Lyrics

i tend to think that it is about the honeymoon period everything is fantastic and you tend to see the person in question with rose tinted glasses. and as for the "cokestarr*" thing i assume that mike from the streets is refering to a particularly popular brand of beer we get in the uk called "stella artois", and not coke, hes not hardcore enough for that. |

Mineral – & Serenading Lyrics

mambypamby i think thats spot on, that'd be true to Chris aswell, if you look at some of the lyrics that he wrote with Mineral more or less all of them were about his faith on some level, whereas the stuff he wrote with TGR lost that to some extent, the lyrics arent so religiously focused, so maybe he did lose a bit of faith at some point in his life. |

Elliott – Speed Of Film Lyrics

Elliott are one of the most original bands ive heard in a long time and ill nevr get the chance to see them cos they went and broke up without tourning the UK *sobs*...anyway, the title and the "trust the moving colours, trust the random actions" lines would tend to suggest that it is about the way in which we just soak up all the images and stories the media throws at us and basically just believe everything that is said to us. Buts thats just my opinion |

K's Choice – Winners Lyrics

Whatever you've been told
Don't turn to God because you're cold
Try the black one, white is nice
If you want blue, you'll pay the price
Does anyone know the meaning behind this section? it sounds like Sarah is questioning any faith that she may/may not have |

Mineral – The Last Word Is Rejoice Lyrics

I always look at this song as Chris Simpson saying that he wants to move on and do what he wants and that he may have doubt about it but in the end it is what he wants to do. I feel that he is pursusing his dream in a sense. I always see it as a follow on to Take the Picture Now aswell but that might just be because of the grass thing. |

Jimmy Eat World – Blister Lyrics

I just love the way that the song has almost two sides to it, The verse part is quite simple and punky and then the chorus becomes more complicated, much like the way many of their songs seem to have a straightforward meaning on the surface and then, underneath, are complex. I always seem to get an "Of Mice and Men" kind of image to it but i think that may just be me.
Clarity is one of the most amazing albums Ive ever heard, no other band had managed to get that kind of sound and emotion that I can think of. Adkins is God! |
