The ghosts line to me seems rather simple... She's obviously using sex as a means of love because of something that happen in her past. So when when she "thinks of ghosts", she is clearly remembering things in her past she is clearly not proud of. The second verse I think you are right on the money with. The third part is confusing to me... I think they are pointing out that she wants to look her best and is always changing her appearance so people think she is something she is not. So she stands out in a crowd, however she can't afford conventional hair dye so she has to use a cheap alternative..... just my opinion though |
