Arcade Fire – Neighborhood #4 (7 Kettles) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Did anybody notice the tune of the Woodland National Anthem being played when he says "They say a watched pot won't ever boil, well I closed my eyes and nothin' changed, just some water getting hotter in the flames. " I just think that is really cool. And this is an amazing song. |

Beck – Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |
it is actually sun-eyed. her are the real lyrics: I saw her, yea I saw her With a black tongue tied round the roses A fist pounding on a vending machine Toy diamond ring stuck on her finger With a noose she could hang from the sun And point it out with the dark sunglasses Walking crooked down the beach She spits in the sand Where their bones are bleaching And I know I'm gonna steal her eye She doesn't even know it's wrong And you know I'm gonna make her die Take her where her soul belongs Know I'm gonna steal her eye Nothing that I wouldn't try Hey, my sun-eyed girl Hey, my sun-eyed girl My sun-eyed girl Hey, sun-eyed girl I saw her, yea I saw her With her hands tied back Her rags are burnin' Calling out from a landfilled life Scrawling her name up on the ceiling Throw a coin in the fountain of dust White noise, her ears are ringing Got a ticket for my midnight hanging Throw a bullet from a freight train leaving And I know I'm gonna steal her eye She doesn't even know it's wrong And you know I'm gonna make her die Take her where her soul belongs Know I'm gonna steal her eye Nothing that I wouldn't try Hey, my sun-eyed girl Hey, my sun-eyed girl My sun-eyed girl Hey, sun-eyed girl Hey, my sun-eyed girl Hey, my sun-eyed girl My sun-eyed girl Hey, sun-eyed girl Hey, my sun-eyed girl Hey, my sun-eyed girl My sun-eyed girl Hey, sun-eyed girl |

Will Smith – You Saw My Blinker Lyrics | 19 years ago |
He pretty much just gives up after the first couple of lines. This song is so bad it's funny. He rhymes quick with hell, and cap with wrecked. It is just sdojfklehkl;fhbe |
The Clash – I'm So Bored with the U.S.A. Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is obviously about the whole-wheat bread embargo of 1936. I mean, look at all the references! "Starsky" is clearly meant to be unscrambled to form the name "Rastyks." This refers to Martin Rastyks, the man who assasinated the Prime Minister of Britain as a protest to the embargo. "Cambodia" is often associated with the phrase "Killing fields." Ms. Fields is a cookie company. Cookies were also affected by the trade embargo. It is no coincidence that The Clash chose these words. They also make a reference to the ending of the embargo when they mention "kojak," because Kojak was the name of the man who made the bomb that was used to destroy the Chinese embassy in Poland. All of these references are so obvious! I can't believe nobody noticed them. |
The Cure – A Forest Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I always thought this song was about polish sausages.... Oh well, guess not. Still, I'm convinced that this is one of the best songs ever written. |
Jack Johnson – Sitting, Waiting, Wishing Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics | 19 years ago |
im not really sure about the 3rd and last stanza but they mightbe talking about the town. think the whole song is a metaphor and the town is sadness. the windmill is happinness. when it says is everybody in it it means is everyone happy. i don't really know. everybody has there own meanings to it. |
The Animals – House Of The Rising Sun Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I always thought it was about the famous chimichanga drought of 1932..... guess not. |
The Streets – Don't Mug Yourself Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Does anybody know the name of the guy who "sings" at the end? |
U2 – Vertigo Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Who cares about the counting at the beginning? Just listen to the damn song. |
Pixies – Hey Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Kim Deal is my favorite bassist. |
The White Stripes – I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself Lyrics | 19 years ago |
They should do a cover of "all along the watchtower" by bob dylan. |
The White Stripes – Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love the paart of the song after he says, "rattle down the street", and it seems like he's gonna say something else, but he doesn't. |
The White Stripes – Screwdriver Lyrics | 20 years ago |
why isn't this song a huge hit??? |
The White Stripes – Hello Operator Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Ms. Suzy had a steamboat, the steamboat had a bell, m. suzy went to heaven, the steamboat went to hell, like all of you people who are writing this instead of discussing the song. just kidding, because you like the white stripes :) |
The White Stripes – The Air Near My Fingers Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Are you kidding? This song rocks, and no song is worse than 'the cold cold night'. |
The White Stripes – There's No Home For You Here Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I think it sounds more like 'the air near my fingers' to me. |
The White Stripes – This Protector Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Did they use west virginia specifically, or just because it rhymes with "within ya"? |
The White Stripes – Little Acorns Lyrics | 20 years ago |
Cool song... using acorns for symbolism is kind of random though. |
The White Stripes – We're Going to Be Friends Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I definitly agree that it is lennon-esque. this song shows that the white stripes are not a one genre band. |
The White Stripes – Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I love this song, and the video as well. I didn't know how popular it was! My favorite line is: "Any man with a microphone can tell you what he loves the most" I don't know what it means, but I just love it. This song just blows my mind. I can't believe I don't have the CD yet. Oh-and about not being a real fan if you don't know if they were married or not: If you were a real fan you'd know that the White Stripes don't want people to know everything about them. |
The White Stripes – Fell In Love With A Girl Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I agree. This song is supposed to be fun and upbeat. The White Stripes bring fun into their music. The video-like the rest of their videos- is awesome. |
The White Stripes – Offend In Every Way Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I love this song. I think it is saying that it is impossible to do anything without offending someone. Also, people who have offended already are trapped because the "offendees"(ppl. who have been offended) always find a way to be offended. |
