I'd have to say this is one of their best. Kind of sounds like Barenaked Ladies, hm? As for the meaning of the song, in general its just someone talking about how cool his girlfriend is. Catchy tune, I like it, good start to summer song. :) |

Total song of the 70s lol, I swear.
What's cool about this song though, there is no drum set. Its missing one of the key elements of a grooving rock song, yet somehow the absence of it makes no difference to our tapping feet. |

You're f-ing kidding me. I thought there would be more posts on this that Everlong, but apparently not. I guess no one's heard the acoustic version.
Its just the whole wheel idea, life sucks, you move on, and you're constantly learning, giving, taking, loving, etc..
The studio version of this one will get stuck in my head pretty quick because it goes into 7/4 and the dissanence in the choard is so striking. But still, the acoustic version of this is loads more emotional, gripping, and just plain better. :) |

I just heard this song tonight actually. I think their style and the actual music of the song is more appealing than the lyrics, but the lyrics still have their intruige.
I think they're saying that the world is a very chaotic place, and two people's love for eachother has been lost in it. By now, everything has faded, and that's all in the past; waves of emotion and love seem numb to him now.
In the chorus, I think he means that he'll be the only one to look on his blurry past, and the present situation with love is 'colorblind' to him. |

Oh my gosh, this song is full of such bull crap. So, he's saying he did some wrong, so wrong to make the girl very unhapp. Going through this though, he has been enlightened, and declares that she's the reason he exists and he's changed for the better because of her, am I right?.
I say, who ever sings this to their girlfriend is just saying this as a desperate attempt to keep her around. I'm probably offended a lot of people right now, but that's my take on it. |

jsee, I agree whole-heartedly with you. Its like he saying too much of a good thing is a bad thing. I think the Lion King illustrated it best with 'The Circle of Life' theme, except John shows it here with the life of love. :)
It just goes to show you that life really does go on after a hard fall, and as much as the inital imact of losing someone may make you swear never to love again, you truely will. Its just how life goes, congrats for nailing it John. |
