how can u not know wat this song means...hehe. on the "Live at the El Rey" dvd, he does commentary with Mark Tyke and his brother Drew. During this song he says "mom doesn't really like this song." and drew goes "does she like any of your songs?" and he goes, "she tolerates some more than others, and sees how others see their funny, but this one in particular isn't a favorite" then goes on to say how this is one of his best musically written songs. hehe. its great commentary and a good concert. check it out. |

I love this song sooo much. I heard it first when I was crying my eyes out and it came on the radio. My first thought was, eh, ok and then the chorus came and I was just awed. The sound of his voice, the pain and feeling in his voice just floored me. The lyrics and his voice combine beautifully to create the tone of hope after disaster. I think the lyrics mean that even though he or his relationship has been through hell, there is hope at the end. Kind of like Scarlett at the end of Gone With the Wind (i hate to make that reference) Its kinda like a determination to be happy after the storm. |

i luv this song, my favorite on "Brushfire Fairytales" i showed this to one of my teachers and he freaked. hes one of those people who are believe that if everyone thought the same thing, the world would be a better place. I however believe that this song is telling people that difference in beliefs is good and the world wud b a better place if we opened our i's and accepted them. i agree with u sparkling rage, in a way, it does sound like that, and it could very well be that, considering that, as far as I know, neither Sarah, or Gert have ever experienced any kind of depression, that was publicised anyway,but they could be speaking of someone they know, Sarah and Gert dont write out of no where to sell records, they write from the heart, so I think this song may either be really deep, or really shallow, but not without meaning like certain....cough N'SYNC....cough songs. |
