awww...this is my favorite r&b song....i get all bitter-sweet when i hear it...its a really good song. its pretty much speaking about a relationship thats over, but even though they arent together now, they learned so many things from each other and gained so much that they will always be a part of each other. hmm first off this is my FAVORITE song of all time...and it looks like i'm not alone here...oh and i had no idea that so many other people had a thing for the "breathe out, so i can breathe you in, hold you in" line...its refreshing to know some other people actually have some musical taste!
as to the meaning of the song: well the first couple of times i listened to it i assumed that it was a love song...beautiful...passionate...deep. now that i've listened to it roughly 10000 times i'm not positive...but i have a suspision that it might have another meaning...Grohl might have been reffering to Cobain when he sings "when i sing along with you" due to them being in the band together, and as much as i hate to say it, "breathe out, so i can breathe you in, hold you in" really reminds me of smoking heroin...and " if anything could ever feel this real forever, if anything could ever feel this good again" sure sounds like euphoria to me... overall I think its a love song with a dual meaning...cause when you really think about it...drug addiction can be a lot like being in love. |
