This song is about Martin Luther King Jr. Everyone thinks he's a fool because he believes we can achieve equality, and many people don't like him. He is the man of a thousand voices of his followers. There is actually a version of this song with excerpts of his "I Have a Dream" speech. |

While I'm sure this isn't the intended interpritation of the song, it reminds me of freedom from slavery. I just read the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, and some of the connections are really strong. Think about it. "There goes my pain there goes my chains," ... "You can't change me you can't break me." |
