Lindisfarne – Lady Eleanor Lyrics | 12 years ago |
First verse is all wrong :/ As she played, magicians seeing all this on the floor = Bashee playing magician sitting lotus on the floor Had myself a nightmare = Had my share of nightmares Then in walked Lord Borgaasha with the Lady Eleanor. = Then in walked Rodrick Usher with the Lady Eleanor |
The Lonely Island – Japan Lyrics | 13 years ago |
River section = "What recession??" I so hope they make a video of this :) preferably infront of a very obvious greenscreen |
Disney – Out There (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Agreed, that bit sends a little tingle down my spine :) brilliant |
Brand New – Upward Over the Mountain (Iron & Wine cover) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
How can you say Sam Beam has no talent? He wrote this, as well as dozens of other beautiful songs. Jesse Lacey is hit and miss at best. |
Muse – Starlight Lyrics | 14 years ago |
So why waste your time commenting? :/ |
Nine Inch Nails – La Mer Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Nice :) I've wanted a tattoo saying "rien ne peut m'arrêter maintenant", but every time I plan on getting it done, something (unexpected debt, tattooist breaks her wrist, unplanned pregnancy) ironically delays it! |
Donovan – Mellow Yellow Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Oh dear, my little girl is called Saffron, I've been nicknaming her Mellow Yellow... I didn't know what this song was about though, maybe I should keep the meaning from her until she's much older :) |
David Bowie – Rebel Rebel Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Pretty sure the whole album is about Nineteen Eighty-Four. Diamond Dogs definitely is, and I always assumed this song was about Julia. |
David Bowie – Heroes Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I listened to Helden. I loved it. But I preferred Bowie's version so much. The fact that it's so triumphant and happy, despite it's meaning, gives it this cynicism that makes it amazing. Plus, I love David Bowie. :p |
David Bowie – We Are the Dead Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Get yourself to a library, it's an amazing book :) |
Ministry – Lay Lady Lay (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Phenomenal cover |
Cheryl Cole – 3 Words Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I can't stand Cole, but I kinda like this. |
Iron & Wine – Chelsea Hotel (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I would love to hear this. My favourite artist covering my second favourite. |
Flo Rida – Right Round Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"I'm pretty sure this song has to do with pole dancing..because it says From the top of the pole I watch her go down" I think the pole is meant to be, um, a metaphor for something else... hence everybody saying the song is about oral :) |
Alexandra Burke – Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
What a shame that such a beautiful song was mutilated by Simon Cowell's little enterprise Not that Alexandra doesn't have a wonderful voice, but this song is all wrong for an X Factor contestant |
The Stranglers – La Folie Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Good Evening Your vehicle doesn’t seem to have an occupant Could you : Would you let me in Or would that be too much trouble ? My boots won’t echo too much in your passageway No noise accompanies my parting No wasted moments for us Waiting for an uncertain reunion Because I’m mad, yes it’s madness There once was a student Who had a great desire, as they say in books His girlfriend was so sweet that by eating her, He was able to reject all vices, repulse all males, Destroy everything beautiful Which up until then, had never been known to him Because he was mad, yes it’s madness And if sometimes you can confess to it To whom can you reveal all - even god himself has Deserted us Another Life, another place And of course, another story But to whom can you open your heart ? At dawn, at dusk How may crimes have been committed Against falsehods and so-called laws of the heart How many are here because of madness Because they are mad Found that on a forum |
Space – The Ballad Of Tom Jones Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Really? 'Cause nuts rhymes with guts... and it certainly sounds like nuts Funny song :) |
No Doubt – Stricken Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Hmm, I've commented this already it seems. I just wanted to say, I was listening to this, and I remembered MamasanScar's comment, or the gist of it anyway. I agree, from about 1:57 she sounds so desperate and helpless, and almost melancholy. So maybe a bit more ambiguous than it appears at first :) |
Elvis Costello – Accidents Will Happen Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Throughbeingme, I know what you mean :] My mam calls him "the real Elvis" Fabulous song |
Katiejane Garside – Puppylove Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I adore this song... Katiejane's voice is amazing |
Marilyn Manson – Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Well the video's... interesting. Ok, it's not, the video's basically a "haha, fuck you" to Dita. Nothing short of soft porn, and Ms. Wood's sex moans are just... fake. I'm not keen on the song. And I agree with MrTinkerTrain, he does sound horrifically emo now. I used to love MM. And before you say anything Devastatus, or whoever else, I can appreciate artists who grow and evolve. I can't appreciate sad old men who blame everybody but themselves for their mistakes, and take advantage of stupid little girls to boost their own egos. |
InMe – Just A Glimpse Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Sorry guys -- old lyrics were sent to me by a friend -- corrected! |
The Prodigy – Spitfire Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Celebrindal, your comment confused me, I use the online moniker Nienna Celebrindal, and thought I'd already commented this song :P Anyway, I love this song. The Prodigy have really grown on me in the past year. Just out of interest, I read somewhere that Juliette Lewis lent her vocals to this song. Is it true? It certainly sounds like her, and I'd love the song even more if it was. |
Mariah Carey – Hero Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ha, there was an event at my college; a girl sang this song amazingly well, and I actually loved it... was annoyed to find out it was originally a Mariah Carey song... oh well, I still like it :] |
Tenacious D – Master Exploder Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this. That is all. |
Iron & Wine – Weary Memory Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with McGandhi really. I don't think the song's about his mother, it's almost certainly about a partner. The rosary beads being broken go with the idea that she's died. A lot of people turn their backs on religion when a loved one passes away. She kissed the beads every night before going to bed, and now she's gone and he's left alone, so out of anger he tosses the beads aside and shatters them, and a few months later he finds them again and they envoke the memory that's always there. At least that's what my mind's eye sees :] very beautiful song |
Robbie Williams – Rudebox Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This isn't a pisstake? We thought he was joking |

Fun Lovin' Criminals – Scooby Snacks Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Also "I need you to be cool. Are you cool?" "I am cool." Class line, Reservoir Dogs :] Ace song, mine and my mates' bank-robbing soundtrack. If we ever robbed a bank. Which we haven't. :[ |

Guillemots – madeup love song #43 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I adore this song.. it's so happy and gentle it didnt occur to me that the lyrics are satirical, but I suppose it works still beautiful |
Elysian Fields – Rolling Lyrics | 18 years ago |
actually on hindsight, it sounds like we |
Elysian Fields – Parachute Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Oh, there was a comment on this page years ago, it isn't here now, asking about John the Conqueror root...... it's a root was used as one of the ingredients of mojo bags, or as a lucky charm... so shes holding fast to her good luck charm... |
Elysian Fields – Rolling Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Does she not say "if dreams were waves"? It does sound a bit like we, but waves makes more sense, surely... |
The Damned – Nasty Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Hehe, this was on the Young Ones.. fun song indeed :D |
The Damned – Eloise Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Elysian Fields – Shrinking Heads in the Sunset Lyrics | 18 years ago |
An ex not being able to get over her maybe? They broke on bad terms, and she's came out better for it, and all she can do really is pity him and hold her head high I'm probably miles off, terrific song though |
No Doubt – Stricken Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I love this song, it's so happy and wonderfully upbeat Absolutely pure love |
