TV on the Radio – Province Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave." ~Mohandas Gandhi |
Weird Al Yankovic – Hardware Store Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I'm pretty sure this song started out as what he called a "genre parody", but then got really off track. Another example of a genre parody would be "Everything You Know Is Wrong", which is a parody of They Might Be Giant's general style. |
Bush – Glycerine Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Glycerine is an ingredient in explosives, but it's also used in perfume. It's a contradiction that fits perfectly with the song. |
Bloodhound Gang – Something Diabolical Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Never really got into HIM, but I still dig the song. I remember being half asleep when I first listened to the cd. What roused me from my sleep was the Shakespeare prop/quote/whatever. It made me smile. |
Dave Matthews – Gravedigger Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Pretty sure 1940 to 1992 is refering to his first wife Grace who commited suicide. |
Tenacious D – Double Team Lyrics | 18 years ago |
As always, I am blown away by the subtlness of Jack Black's writing. This song is obviously about the objectification of women. |
Old Crow Medicine Show – Wagon Wheel Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Basically the whole thing is about going home to the woman he loves. I think one reason it's such a good song is because the theme touches all of us on different levels, i.e. it could literally be about a man traveling across the U.S. of A. to get home to his girl, or maybe the woman feels the man isn't ready for her, and he needs to grow up for a while before she will take him in again. |
The Avalanches – Frontier Psychiatrist Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This is such a great song and video. Do they really make guitars that big? |
Dave Matthews Band – #41 Lyrics | 20 years ago |
I love this song dearly. Just had to get that off my chest... I attended a live proformance at my school of this song sung by a pal of mine. He did a very good job of bringing all the emotions that #41 entails to life. Another reason I love this song is because it directly relates to certain events in my life that have changed me forever. I actually believe this song is about getting BACK TOGETHER with someone you thought you had lost and loved dearly. I get this from the lyrics "I'm begging slow I'm coming here Only waiting I wanted to stay I wanted to play I wanted to love you I'm only this far And only tomorrow leads my way I'm coming waltzing back and moving into your head" It just made sense that it was about a guy who mistakenly broke up with a girl and wants to get back with her. But then, it's just my interpertation, I could be wrong. |
