Wilco – I'm the Man Who Loves You Lyrics

I HAVE ridden a bike to this song! I was riding home from my Mcjob at 7-eleven last summer and it was a gorgeous sunny day and when the breakdown started I reached out my hands and flew. It was hands-down the BEST 4 minutes I've ever had on a bike.
In other words, yes. You SHOULD get on your bike immediately. |

Tom I'm really glad you caught that. I actually just came to this site to make sure that people knew what 'four on the floor' meant. I think it was clever of mark to include that. |

Talking Heads – This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) Lyrics

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I just can't get over how beautiful it is, and that it came out of David Byrne. He doesn't do pretty and poignant, yaknow?
God. It's just perfect.
Also, if you don't have the Stop Making Sense version, GET IT. It's hands down the best. |

Modest Mouse – Satin in a Coffin Lyrics

This is impossibly catchy. The damn banjo gets me every time.
I think this song is about how we surrounded by things that can cause our death.
Ex:
Now the blow's been softened, since the air we breathe's our coffin
Well now the blow's been softened, since the ocean is our coffin
Often times you know our laughter is our coffin ever after
And you know the blow's been softened, since the world is our coffin
And now the blow's been softened, since we are our own damn coffins |

I'm not a big fucking mary-kate and ashley fan, but what is wrong with them liking it? what makes them 'unworthy' of listening to this? If anything, it just hightens my opinion of them.
I understand people feeling protective of their music(confession: as soon as i heard float on on the radio I yelled at myself for not having a tshirt yet so as to let everyone know I liked modest mouse before they did) but it's not as if anyone is forced to say they like it. In fact, it's more prominant in the indie scene to say you like a band when you don't, just for credibility. how often does that happen in the mainstream? |

Blink-182 – I Miss You Lyrics

hey, mcfly, I agree. this sounds like a cure ripoff, and the video reminds me of the cd cover of 'disintegration' but apparently mr. smith wouldn't be turning over in his grave even if he was no longer with us. in fact, he contributed vocals to a song on this album. tres bizarre, huh? |

The Get Up Kids – Anne Arbour Lyrics

The lyrics are great. But I also love how the whole thing sounds. It's so pretty and bittersweet. That's my favorite type of song, the kind that makes you sad while making you smile at the same time. |

This song is absolutely perfect. the lyrics, the melody, his voice. just everything. I can't even pick out a favorite because it's all just incredibly beautiful. |
