Radiohead – There There. (The Boney King of Nowhere.) Lyrics 19 years ago
Look you little shits! You can argue and bicker all you want on whether Radiohead still sounds good or not. The only thing that matters is....it is good. What do I mean good, its glorious. It's good and that's that because I say it is, for I am Jesus. And to dnspiral9: stop masturbating in your father's church socks!

Jet – Rollover D.J. Lyrics 19 years ago
This is my third Jet post. Ha. I'm not gonna give up on these guys. For those of you who like them and don't care that they are a carbon copy and eliminate this fact by recognizing them as a good-sounding band, you're all a bunch of fucking robots. Robots because you don't care what music really sounds like. You stand there with your hand down your pants fidgeting with your knob and bobbing your head because you pick up on the drum, bass, voice, and nothing else. If you like Jet, go to a fucking rave, there's lots of people there who dance no matter what the music sounds like. Face it. You can defend yourself in regards to my statement, but I guarantee nothing you say will make me think differently, and frankly I don't want to hear your opinion, especially coming from someone who likes Jet. Rock on Opinionhead and shadowwiththeeyes.

Jet – Look What You've Done Lyrics 19 years ago
Oh this song is gorgeous. Oh this song is beautiful. And in between these rantings we have the people on here saying that this song is very Beatles-esque in their posts. Seriously you guys must have stated that fact in about 60 percent of these posts. Hmmmm, and all the while you say that it's a good song anyway. Sweet jumped up jesus on a pogo stick. Fuck Jet. You like this song? Listen to Sexy Sadie. It's more orginal and much better. In fact I wouldn't recommend listening to Jet whatsoever. Seriously, it does horrors for your brain. I hate very few things in this life and I guess I've let Jet get to me but it's for a damn good reason. These guys are complete and utter douches! My god, how could anyone find these guys groovy or one of the new 'hot things' in music today? Here's the most on-point review of their shitty album. Enjoy: http://pitchforkmedia.com/record-reviews/j/jet/get-born.shtml

Jet – Are You Gonna Be My Girl Lyrics 19 years ago
What this song means to me?...........well.....i don't just listen to music for the sound of it. shadowwiththeyes has got the picture, G.E.R.M.S. and the others who can't see that this band blatantly rips off of other shit, including Oasis, Iggy Pop, AC/DC, etc.....OK thats just too many damn influences, and a little diverse, especially for one band. I don't even think they were truly inspired by these bands, they just took all of the shit that they knew everyone loved in their respective generations and recreated it. Bottom line is the only talent Jet has is the ability to play musical instruments. They can read music....big woopty doo. They'd have to do a hell of a job at it too to totally botch the chords for 'Lust For Life.' Everyone's going to tell me to not get mad, well sorry Chuck. Assholes like these talentless mother fuckers need to be stopped. Just the looks on their faces in the videos make me sick. They think they're hot shit. Well to the public they might be but that's not saying anything, I mean look where America's general tastes are going. OK, so everyone's going to say "Oh I don't care I like it and thats all that matters." No, it does matter because those who like this song and the band in itself have shitty taste, not just in my opinion but universally, because this band defies all laws of hackery and stupidity. Now I'm not a genius, but then again you don't have to be to point out something like this. I just posted something for Modest Mouse's 'Float On' regarding the taste of American pop culture today and it was much more tame than this because Modest Mouse is actually a talented band and have showcased that. Jet, however are not bringing back the 'old rock' sound that everyone loves. They're fucking replicating it, down to it's most precise detail. Thank you and good night. Be sure to tip your waitress!

Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics 19 years ago
Hey, its been a while since I've posted. My thoughts have changed a little bit since my last post on this song in October. First off, I know I'm not alone in saying that Modest Mouse selling out is definitely a bad thing in terms of their musical structure. One thing I can't stand in the music industry today is that everyone turns their attention towards god awful, simple lyrics over a melody that has been recycled a hundred times over and think that these are the boundaries in which music cannot be any further explored. Now I am definitely a music lover. I love getting the scoop on new bands, mostly the underground scene because I, like many others, enjoy having a certain group to myself if not a few others that I know about. I've heard of some very good bands on pitchforkmedia.com that no one else would even bother to find out about unless their shit was played on MTV. I know I like to dog on the whole MTV generation as I know so many others do as well, but the 'pop music' of today? I'm sorry, but to me it just sounds so god awful and the only way I can imagine anyone taking a fancy to it is if it reflects their intellect. I think anyone who is a big fan of Ja Rule has no intellect at all if not only the tiniest shred, and people who adore pop punk (emo dogshit) are emotionally immature when given the elements of the content. I'm sorry if I offend anyone but hey, I'm human, its pretty much all of our human rights to look at things in different perspectives. Overall, I feel the MTV generation only brings in bands such as Modest Mouse if their sound is made more simplistic and monotonous so all of the retarded 15 year old girls and frat kids spawned from yuppies can get their music jollies. Let's face it, for those of you who have heard the old Modest Mouse after listening to 'Good News For People Who Love Bad News,' it's fairly evident that their new sound is very watered down in context to their first 4 albums and 2 EPs. I guess what I'm trying to say is that all of the people, including me, that some of you criticize for not liking a band when they become too popular, we're only drawing a line when it comes to the acception of music. Now to me, I think thats a very wise decision, and the great thing is I still don't have a completely cynical outlook on music. I hear of new bands day after day that make their own sound, much as Modest Mouse kind of did when they first hit the scene. I would actually reccomend to everyone to find out about the underground bands, the ones on independent labels, because these bands cater more to the individual in all of us, and thats a very refreshing thing to discover.

Modest Mouse quickly became an example of the things I hate in the music industry. Granted their new album isn't bad, but it really isn't good. They were so much mroe neat when their songs were interpreted in no definite way except for how the listener read into them. When you hear tracks like 'Float On,' they're way too straightforward, and thats where I think about the dumbed-down intellect that pop culture influences and sparks in the minds of today's audience. I guess what I'm trying to say is that MTV is one giant asshole and its audience, the one that relied on this big corporation to find out about a band that started out brilliant but will now become corporate America's fuck-buddy, are idiots. So what if I'm opinionated, doesn't that make life more fun instead of trying to be civil all the time? So go ahead.......give me your worst.

Modest Mouse – Doin' the Cockroach Lyrics 19 years ago
I saw Modest Mouse play this song live in August when Jeremiah Green started back up with them, and goll damn he was fuckin A on the drums!

Oh yeah, this song is basically about all the negative aspects of the normal, everyday things in life, and the set opinion Isaac "Boop-Doo" Brock has about everything, which is negative.

P.S.: If you people were true Modest Mouse fans you would actually be a little upset that they cashed in on the teeny-bopper O.C.-watching fag hags that never explore the realms on music on their own and wait until something falls in their lap on MTV. I guess it was inevitable seeing is how they've been around for almost 10 years and this is the first time any of their songs reached MTV. All I can say is if you started listening to Modest Mouse after this single came out, then fuck you. I'm sorry if my opinion is blunt but it's just how I feel. I'm real anal about this type of shit and I'm working real hard on trying to change it. Peace everyone.

Modest Mouse – Float On Lyrics 19 years ago
All I can say is...the new Modest Mouse is good but somewhat disappointing when compared to their earlier stuff, especially "The Lonesome Crowded West." I used to love Modest Mouse until this song hit the airwaves and then every frat boy was singing this song with their slutty sorority girlfriends at keggers, very depressing. I guess there was no way Modest Mouse would have went commercial unless some of their songs were actually a little uplifting.

Modest Mouse – You're the Good Things Lyrics 20 years ago
i think this is possibly the most beautiful modest mouse song ever, next to "heart cooks brain." i have a couple theories on what exactly it is this song means. on one hand, i think it's about him not wanting to forget about this girl he was seeing that later rejected him, and this song serves as a sort of lament regarding all of the simple and natural things he synonmizes her beauty with. then, like true isaac brock fashion, he kind of contradicts the meaning of the song by helping her dig her grave.....speaking her language when she does dig her grave. its as if he wants her dead.....maybe because he can't stand life with both of them alive because he'll never be able to be with her again. even though the last third of the lyrics have a well-structured, dancy, dramatic beat behind it, i still only pay attention to them before "and help's not short," because i share isaac's position of metaphor when the song busts out all of the "you're the's," because i don't know, i'm just a simple guy like that who looks at the beauty of the opposite sex through simple things that for some odd reason or another remind me of them.
