Yeah Master_of_Puppets I know what you mean. Glen Matlock was way much better bass player than Sid *which wasn't very hard to do, but anyways*, but Sid has always been SP's icon. Glen did't have a propper attitude and Sid was just the one to replace him. Even if they plugged him out on most of their concerts. So that's why people sometimes forget about his musical capabilities. I just can't figure out why he couldn't learn how to play bass, it isn't really hard, especially if you're a former drummer like he was *have to have a filling for rythm & stuff*. |

One of favourite by SP. It's about Germany and how was it like there at that time *being devided on east & west*. That explains the communism part, you can even sence a bit of sarcasm *Holidays in the sun*, and offcourse paranoia, a feeling of being trapped. |

@vicious_groupie: how can sid be a hero to anybody? don't get me wrong, i love him *kinda obssesed fan*, so as i love sex pistols, but i can't imagine how can such a weak person as sid was *even though he was anything but vicious deep down* represent a role model to somebody. drugs are bad, and sid did a lot. he didn't know how to play a goddamn bass, and actually I think he was the girl in a sid-nancy relation. But hey, thn again, these are my thoughts, so just ignore them if you don't like what I'm saying.
@hello_mcfly: yeah, i agree johnny can't sing for shit. he's all wrong. but isn't this what makes him special? I love to listen to him sing, cause he's got his own style. Yeah, he's a bad singer, but it's something about him... I don't know. Hard to explain. I love PiL almost as much as I love SP.

The first part of the song makes me believe that he's like very drunk or maybe even stoned. Dunno..I kinda get exact feeling, when I'm drunk. Miseria cantare is definitelly latin, miseria - misery, wretchedness; cantare - to sing. I always taught that Miseria cantare stands for - sing the sorrow or maybe Misery is singing..something in that spirit. I agree that it's a very good beginning of the album. I absolutely LOVE sing the sorrow. |
