davy and micky were making fun of the songs stupid lyrics. evil don kirshner apparently has a sense of humor and used this version. the raccoon was a pet of mike's friend John London. supposedly, it cost 35 bucks. I love this song. it's soo funny! |

This song always makes me think of the rapture. and yes i know guster is jewish, but that's what it makes me think of. or something like abraham and sarah in the old testament leaving their home because God told them to. kinda like they are waiting for all the unfaithful to get their share. This was one of the songs that i always thought gave guster that "christian band" question in their faq. |

i think the reason that they repeat the "we went down.." part represents the passing of time. every time it seems to get worse and worse. |
