The Antlers – No Widows Lyrics

I agree with amobishoproden's reading.
life seems pointless but within the pointlessness, there is no responsibilities, no obligations, no guilt.
he is removed from life, but free enough not to be shackled by it. |

Radiohead – Street Spirit (Fade Out) Lyrics
| 22 years ago

this is probably the most profound song I've ever heard.
Everything about it, it couldn't be improved, nothing could take from it.
the video, the vocals, the lyrics, the music, the imagery
it makes me feel vacant. |

Cake – The Distance Lyrics

please let this be about anal sex, if only for my amusement ;)
at first I thought it was about the rat race. especially since the guy in the vid is wearing a suit.
he sounds a lot like tom green.
Isnt this called 'the distance'..hmm |

Alanis Morissette – Hands Clean Lyrics
|
hmmm it would fit if it was Ryan Adams.
I'm sure songwriters do need the hide the real meanings of things, and if this WAS about ryan adams, it would need to be cryptic, so she's easily applied a different scenario to it. although I would prefer if she said she couldnt comment :p
but would ryan adams family care about who she is?
mm ryan adams firm body |

The Goo Goo Dolls – Black Balloon Lyrics
|
I think the girl is distant. A black balloon would symbolise some sort of pessimism. Balloons should be carefree and happy. Maybe the girl had a bad childhood, and hasn't escaped her past. She couldn't think about tomorrow. She was probably quite distant or cold, a prayer would be solemn and quiet.
Maybe she had her pain but never told him what it was. She was that pain no one can ever pin down? |

The Cranberries – Zombie Lyrics

weaselfire - the 1916 is a reference to an irish revolution.
this is such a powerful song though, it is universal to all wars. If you really feel superior to the other side, you arent at all, it's all in your head. |

I adore this and the video is perfect. It's just amazing. I thought hands clean was ok. But this is really really really good. Jagged little pill was the first album I bought and this just brings it all back. |

Sarah Slean – I Know Lyrics

She cries for the sinners but she can't forgive them. Jesus died for them and her sisters are dying. This is such a beautiful song but all the religious mentions just ruin it for me a little. |

I think this has something to do with Karma.Politicians can be quite ruthless. They go forwards at your expense but what goes around comes around. |

Radiohead – In Limbo Lyrics
|
It's about division. The irish sea divides england and ireland. ANd then in the chorus, he says I'm on your side. Its about some duality that he is trying to break down. Maybe he doesnt think he fits in either side, maybe it is trying to be neutral all the time. It's cryptic. I guess you can only take your own meaning from it. |

Radiohead – Everything in Its Right Place Lyrics
| 22 years ago

I *love* this song, it was the first song off Kid A I liked because I used to fall asleep listening to it, and I'd usually be asleep near the end of this song, because it's just so surreal. I ended up putting it on repeat. |

Radiohead – Talk Show Host Lyrics
|
I think he is sick of what people think of him. Like he has an audience and a jury. The talk show host would need to be in control. So he looks at himself both subjectively and objectively. Sometimes over analysing really is pretentious. I guess I've crossed that but its still a beautiful song. I also loved R+J and to be honest, maybe even for the scenes with that song at first. I had OK Computer and Kid A but I still didnt know radiohead sung that. I felt so *incredibly* stupid when I found out. Exit Music is beautiful too. |

Radiohead – Climbing Up the Walls Lyrics

I adore this song, its my favourite radiohead song thus far. It's just amazing. Haunting and still profound even if it is cryptic. Makes me wish the insight we get into thom yorkes mind didnt come so fleetingly. Again he can be surreal and detached, but you are dragged in there. |

Idlewild – American English Lyrics

hahaha I'd hate to say it but although the person who submitted the lyrics made an admirable effort! they are a little off in places. BUT! never fear I'm just going to comment on song now.
I think America is the unreal and England is the pride.
You want the prettyness but you want the edge.
Fuck everyone else, and i'll be independant and sing the song about myself.
So you are american english.
Deludedly independant :P |

this is such a beautiful song. It's so moving. And her voice is just so expressive and just vulnerable enough. |
