This song is so beautiful and so sad. Sarah McLachlan does a version of it that...i am scared to say... is so much better. Sarah does an unbelieveable job with the harmonies. bottom line though, the metaphor of the tatoo is beautiful and so is this song. |

i think she just wants to be with this man and she is positive that she could be good to him. she is thinking of all the things she wants to do to him and would do to him if she could only have him. this song was the first sarah mclachlan song i ever heard....and i still love it. the piano version at the very end of fumbling towards ecstacy is so good. let the last song play...and it's a hidden track. |

this song is so ture...and i agree with all of you, it is so beautiful.... i think he really loves this girl, and he really looks up to her and she just makes him so happy, but the situation she is in, makes her upset, therefore making him angry that she is upset. this song really means a lot to me because i know the people i consider my best friends, dont like me very much.. but my boyfriend really shows that he cares for me, and is always open to my complaints about them. i dont know what i did wrong to have them hate me so much, but this song really eases my pain.
also i think he is so right when he says, " nobody's nice
when you're older your heart turns to ice and shut out what they say they're too dumb to mean it anyway " the more heartbreak and hurt you endure as a child the harder you get, and when your older, you become bitter because of your past. life really stinks sometimes.

this song is so dark. i is one of her best i must say. This boy did her in and he weighs her down, hence the title. Obviously, the relationship revolves around him, he doesnt care to much about her, and he hits he with the classic line"I don't really know the reason, It's just not the same," a choice break-up line. he's a jerk!

this song is so simple.....yet so profound. he knows he has done bad things in his life, and he is getting it back in the ass. Also i think he has suffered from heartbreak one too many times, and so he is not sure if he wants to even try to look for someone. He regrets the things he did, and didnt get a chance to do. but the best part of the song is right at the end, "Don't confront me with my failures, I have not forgotten them." He knows what he did wrong, so he doesnt need to be told. I know thats how i feel for a lot fo things i do wrong.

ugh exactly... i have seen dashboard everytime they've come into chicago since last summer's VAGRANT tour. and the shows are so good. A person sould not lable a musician a sell-out just because they become popular. and a musician becoming popular does not mean you have to stop liking them either. If he was making commercials, or numbers of MTV appearances then that would be a different story. But he isn't. he is just playing music. And correct me if i am mistaking, but as a musician isn't your goal to have your music heard? That is exactly what he is doing nothing more than that. though there will be the annoying people who claim they know eveything about dashboard, thats ok, if they like dash, they know good music. |

Joveth, did you know the video was her idea?>? it fits perfectly with the song.
So, she meets this man. She questions him with what he can do with her " you'll rescue me, right?..." (along with all the other phrases that end in "right") She basically wants to know is the "the guy." She has this perfect idea of how a guy should be, but she also knows reality and nothing is perfect. And the guy she is with now is......just not rockin her boat. If she doesnt have her "precious illusions" what is she to look for, to live for with a man? She is not going to let them go, because it would be like losing a childhood bestfriend, or an invisible best friend.
The best part of the song comes at the bridge with, "Ive spent so long firmly looking outside me..." I feel that she feels like she has been looking so long for love, but she has had her guard up because she doesnt want to get hurt which is enabling her to show her true colors, but now she is ready to make a true commitment, and leave no secrets to the man she truly loves. |

ok obviously he is hurt. but why?>? Looking at the title "the good fight," and " does it comfort you to know you fought the good fight," there must have been a quarrel of some type. And the way he felt was wrong and she was right, and if there was any fight for her to participate in, it was this one, because she would win, though there are no winners and losers in love. But even though she won, he still wanted her, " I begged you not to go, i begged you, i pleaded. " But she doesn't care, she is done with him, and goes around telling everyone how they are over, she basically hates him, and she was right and won the fight. "to boast your bitter bragging rights to anyone who'll listen." And though she was right, and Chris was wrong, people dont care, and "she's left with nothing tangible to gain." |
