to some things that were asked:
yes he is saying "this is the moment" and then "they call him the angry son, I am the angry son". those are the screamed vocals.
from what the insert of the discography says about the songs that included the Bessie Smith samples, they were there to ""emulate the nights in oakland we spent fucked up/passed out with the needle dragging the end of the slint LP".
my band covered this song the other night in a basement to an audience of about 15 dirty sweaty hardcore punk kids. apparently every one was really into it. I sing my my back turned so i couldn't tell. this song has so much power, and if you know all the words and you sing it with a real band, it is just so much more explosive. I wish I could live those 7 and a half minutes over again. and I wish the mic was louder so I could have heard my whispered vocals. ouch my neck still hurts.
while I'm not sure this is my favorite Indian Summer song is, that may be a combination of Aren't you Angel and Waiting as a whole, this one is absolutely amazing.

i actually like this song and this band quite a bit, even though i don't really listen to any pop music. but saves the day is really good. despite the fact that every thinks they are an emo band and they aren't, people are definetly right in saying that saves the day is damn good. |

these guys are one of the only metalcore bands i really like. them and converge. this is my favorite song they ever did. when the acoustic slowdown with the sample comes in i get teary. the guitar part is so beautiful. then when he begins screaming "no more crying myself to sleep at night" i totally lose it. amazing amazing. |

from autumn to ashes is the most plastic metalcore band i've ever heard. converge is the real deal. experimental metalcore is the only way to go. red roses for a blue lady was also amazing, though they were far more straight forward. |

bane is far from the greatest straight edge band ever. maybe bold or youth of today or minor threat. bane may not have sXe lyrics anymore but they are still good positive words. they also don't really condone drugs or drinking either. at least not in song. bane is a great band in hardcore because they don't have any moniker attached to them. they aren't a vegan band or a sXe band. they are just a hardcore band. i wouldn't say i've ever considered them sXe hardcore even in the beginning. |

pobably my favorite converge song. jacob's screaming is so frenzied in this song. of course even when reading the lyrics while listening to the song you can't understand a fucing word, but neverless, the words are great. |

this is a great song. probably my favorite bane song. these guys are one of the reasons i love positive hardcore. it's pretty obvious this song is about the foolishness of smoking, but i think the way it was written is great, and the music in the song is great. i sing along my hardest everytime i see them play this song. |

for some reason venus and bacchus gets all the hype. i've been listening to saetia for a long time and that was the first song i ever heard by them, so it's old to me. this song on the other hand amazes me to no end. i think the slow down leading to the climactic build up during "closed hands, and open arms...hold nothing." is a really powerful part in the song. the way it progresses gets me everytime. |

i love this song. positive and hard. the way i like it. this is what hardcore is about. i'm surprised no one has commented on this song since i think it's one of their strongest and next to superhero this is my favorite song by bane. i think this song is really just about growing up and facing the world. it's about learning the ways of the world, and opening your eyes. i think the song writing on this song is realy strong musically. i love the chord progression.
