Randy Newman – Mama Told Me Not To Come Lyrics 22 years ago
You haven't lived if this song means nothing to you!!!!! We've all been there, at this kinda party and we've all had our mothers warning us in vain. To see what this song really means it needs to be played at a house party where the joints and lines are being passed around freely together with the booze and see how many smiling faces and laughs it gets

The Waterboys – The Glastonbury Song Lyrics 22 years ago
This is such an amazing song for me on a very personal, spiritual level - as are many of The Waterboys' songs. I think this song can only really be understood by going to somewhere like Glastonbury Tor and really immersing yoursel in the unique atmosphere. Listen to this song after that, in the car on the way home maybe and you'll just be nodding in agreement all the way through :)

Stereophonics – Have A Nice Day Lyrics 22 years ago
Indeed this is a song about an actual cab ride taken by the boys in SF. And listening to Kelly speak about him, he definately did NOT like the guy. I think it's against songmeanings.net's acceptable use policy to actually repeat Kelly's words verbatim but something along the lines of "He spent his whole damn ****ing life in that cab, and I hope the ***** never leaves it"
By all accounts the cab driver was very critical of them ("No artists anymore / You're only in it now / To make more, more, more") and anything else he could bring to mind, venting his spleen on almost any topic he could. After the cab ride, he put on a big smile and said "Have a Nice Day" as if he hadn't just ranted at them! So that in essence is what this song is about, the big 'smiling-face' americanism which is so false it's become habit for so many people no matter what we really think or say.

Stereophonics – Caravan Holiday Lyrics 22 years ago
This song is another great example of Kelly Jones' ability to tell a great story in 4 minutes! On the surface it's simply recounting a week's holiday wasted in the caravan because of the weather, however the chorus tells us a little more about it:
" There's always time to complain about the weather
Seasons change in a day just like each other
But still we wait for summer "
This couple don't seem to have the best or calmest of relationships, their moods obviously changing towards one another, but their caravan holiday is still something they look forward to in the summer, perhaps to get away from everything else in their lives. Of course they're just stuck in the caravan this year ;)

Stereophonics – I Wouldn't Believe Your Radio Lyrics 22 years ago
Anyone who's been through a nasty relationship split has got to love this song. In Kelly Jones' own words when introducing it at the Morfa Stadium gig : "This next song's about a man and a woman. The man leaves the woman, and she keeps his house and his car. 'Cos that's the kinda thing women do. [much applause from the audience] Some of them anyway"
It's a great rolling tune, with plenty of sarcastic emotion in it - I personally phoned my ex from my mobile when they played it at Donnington in '01 just so she could hear it live!! Wicked of me I know, but I'm sure the boys would be proud :)
