Coldplay – A Rush of Blood to the Head Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Hey, at a gig last week, after the 'I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war if you can tell me something worth fighting for' line, he sang 'No Blood for Oil' which is what my sign that I had said. Yay! But really...Coldplay is my favourite band and this is one of my favourite songs...I can't get over it. It's so amazing live, too. If you get a chance...see them live. They're a live band...their magic comes out on stage, especially Chris. |
Guster – Two Points For Honesty Lyrics | 21 years ago |
If there's a person that can't relate to this song..then I want to marry him, because he'd be perfect. Do: |
The Flaming Lips – All We Have Is Now Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Oh, I love this song...."All we have is now" sums it up. |
Busted – What I Go To School For Lyrics | 21 years ago |
rofl, I can't believe they can sing this song with a straight face. The video is hilarious. |
Incubus – Aqueous Transmission Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I put this song on a mix for my boyfriend which was kind of a compilation of songs that reminded me of him that he hadn't heard before, and this was the last song on it. For those of you thinking about putting it on a mix, it definately has to be last, and if you put it someplace else, I'll hunt you down and whack you with a fish. Especially if you put something like Korn after it. do: |
Aqualung – Can't Get You Out Of My Mind Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"Ben and I wrote this a couple of years ago with the band in mind, but we never really got to grips with it. Evidence of our love for Bread (the band from the 70s, not the foodstuff) and later period Beach Boys. Lovely classic words by Ben. Falling in love is frightening." - Matt Hales |
Aqualung – Just For A Moment Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"The more you have, the more you have to lose." - Matt Hales |
Aqualung – If I Fall Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"Perhaps my favourite at the moment because it sort of sums up how I'm feeling. Excited and terrified all at once. I got Ben to play two tiny guitar bits with two notes each, then made the guitar parts out of them in the computer. It was hard and hurt my brain, but I like the effect. " - Matt Hales |
Aqualung – Good Times Gonna Come Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"I wrote this about a year ago, reflecting on a shitty time in my life and wishing I could have known it was going to work out ok in the end. It was originally a strange piano waltz, but mutated into a strange guitar waltz. I was particularly pleased with the sound of the riff at the beginning which was made by blu-tacking paper clips to the piano hammers." - Matt Hales |
Aqualung – Falling Out Of Love Lyrics | 21 years ago |
"So you're in a relationship but you know in your heart it's over … The music was made from minor chords in a long meandering chain, with Aretha Franklin on my mind." - Matt Hales |
Aqualung – Strange And Beautiful (I'll Put A Spell On You) Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Hey, just so you all know, Aqualung's self titled album came out 30 September, at least in the UK. I haven't been able to find it here in the States, so I'm having my friend in London get it for me, but I think you can get it as an import from Amazon.com if you want to shell out 30 dollars. You can listen to it at their website (www.aqualung.net) or at BBC 6Music (http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/artists/aqualung/album.shtml). I highly highly HIGHLY recommend it; it's amazingly beautiful music. |
Tom McRae – A & B Song Lyrics | 21 years ago |
My favorite Tom McRae song...I love how he compares them...and his voice is to die for. It's kind of like Jeff Buckley, but it's different. |
Sarah McLachlan – I Love You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Surfacing was the first CD I ever bought with my own (hard earned (o:) money way back in '97 (seems so long ago, but it really wasn't...), and I always loved this song, and like Forever Young, I can finally relate to it. I love my boy so much, and I never seem to feel like I tell him enough. He knows, though. |
Death Cab for Cutie – Photobooth Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Ahh, kickass song. I love the visualizations you get from listening to it. Something I can definately relate to. |
Guster – Center Of Attention Lyrics | 21 years ago |
Finally a song that I can relate to 100%. Hehe. And there's NOTHING wrong with being the center of attention. (o: |
Guster – So Long Lyrics | 21 years ago |
The lyrics are a bit off on this one, but the song is awesome. Definately about a one-night-stand or something like that where "they" got together too quickly for their own good, and this person realizes it, and has no regrets. |
Starsailor – Tie Up My Hands Lyrics | 21 years ago |
I think Belle is dead on with this song. It's like you want to spend all your time with the person you love, but life still has to go on. And in particular, in the song, the singer wants to stay with his lover to work things out, but life is pulling him away. |
Tom McRae – Street Light Lyrics | 22 years ago |
What I take from this absolutely gorgeous song is that everywhere he goes, he sees this girl in everything, in the "radio playing in the dark" and the "polaroid lying on the street." It's so beautiful...I cried the first time I heard it. |
Sophie B. Hawkins – As I Lay Me Down Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I could have sworn it says "I like tacos" in the background... |
Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I'm a little late, but scaremongering is basically scaring a person into doing something, specifically purchasing an item. "Buy a fall out shelter or die!" pretty much sums it up. |
Coldplay – Green Eyes Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I swear, this song was written for my boy and I... |
Coldplay – High Speed Lyrics | 22 years ago |
The importance of trust, very simply put in both the lyrics and explaination. |
Coldplay – The Scientist Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Basically, this song is saying that "he" screwed up. He doesn't know how to explain it, because it was against reason, whatever he did. He wants to be able to explain what he did with science and reasoning, but he just can't, because love doesn't work like that. And this person means everything to him, so he wants to try it over again, but the other person thinks that there should be something to explain it. My favorite song I've heard by Coldplay. I can't wait 'til the new album comes out tomorrow. |
Aqualung – Strange And Beautiful (I'll Put A Spell On You) Lyrics | 22 years ago |
My good friend played this song for me, and from the first line, "I've been watching your world from afar," I knew the entire song would click with me. The spell is definately metaphorical for finally getting that one person that rocks your world, whether they know it or not, to notice you. And while we're on the subject, my friend also told me that this is how he felt about me...and the song was a spell. We're together now. My favorite part of the song, though, is the refraine..."sometimes the last thing you want comes in first, sometimes the first thing you want never comes, I know the waiting is all you can do, sometimes," The statement is true. But what I love about it is how they go back and say, "I know...sometimes." It's so much about human nature, you know something that is hard to accept, but you don't always know it. Waiting for that one thing you want can be so hard, and sometimes, it never comes. And there comes a point where the only thing you really can do IS wait, even if it doesn't come, including that person you really want. I love this song, it will hold a special place in me for a very, very long time. And Sal, this song just goes to show how important that unrequited (I love that word) can be to someone, even though they might never get it. |
