Where the hell did that whole drugs thing come from? That's totally opposite of the meaning. It's about a girl who never really lived her life, loved anyone, or truly felt anything. Then this guy fell in love with her and realized what kind of life she had. "You know the lies they always told you, and the love you never knew..." And he was a little shallow. I guess in a way he tried to save her from her life, but he didn't realized she was saving him from his. In the video, it looks like she killed herself at the end. But she still taught him about life and love, overall. "And I'll become what you became to me..." |

O.K PEOPLE! Some of you have the right idea about the song but, I DON'T THINK THERE WAS A BABY INVOLVED! BABY'S BREATH IS A FLOWER! And since people usually throw rice at the bride and groom at a wedding, I'm guessing "stop a baby's breath and a shoe full of rice," means that the were two young careless "freshmen" who thought they would never fall in love or anything. Then they met eachother and love got the better of them, cause after all, sometimes you can't really chose who you fall in love with, it just happens. So they probably got married thinking their love would last forever. But then they started to fall out of love, or, it COULD be possible that they DID have a baby, but since they probably got married at a young age, they couldn't support it. But they didn't get an abortion, they didn't kill it, the baby lived. But they did work extra hard to support it. And the father probably thought he was a total screw up and the mother probably thought she was a careless little-, you know. That is, if there WAS a baby. Maybe they had to get married cause she was pregnant. This song kinda reminds me of the movie "Down To You" a little. They really had no idea what they were doing and near the end she left because she realized it and couldn't take it anymore. Like the saying goes, "Love is Blind." They had no idea what they were getting into. The second verse about his friends and his girl taking valium, it just meant his friend went through the same thing, but they were smart enough NOT to get married and break-up. Unfortunately, they really missed eachother afterwards and the girl killed herself, where as the guy just mourned the loss of his true love. Well, it's sad. Hey, I 'm not trying to diss the song, I love it. IT ROCKS! But I think some of you are missing the point. You know what, I kinda think I might not even be right. Oh well, it sounds O.K. |
