Weezer – Acapulco Lyrics

I think this song may have been left off Maladroit because there are already some other slower numbers, but the song is great. |

Placebo – Pure Morning Lyrics

|
Apparently this is a "celebration of friendship with women." I've always thought that the line "My friend confessed she passed the test" was about a pregnancy test, but I'm not sure. |

"Get right to the heart of matters; It's the heart that matters more": great line in a great song. Seems like another one about change

Weezer – Special Goodness Lyrics

The Special Goodness is the name of the band formed by Weezer's drummer, Pat Wilson. AFAIK there is no Weezer song with these lyrics. |

Weezer – Death and Destruction Lyrics

This song was originally recorded as an instrumental, for those that are curious. I prefer the new version, I think the lyrics complement the guitar/drums very well. |

Weezer – December Lyrics

I agree about the live version being superior. It's worth looking for, it's 3:13. |

Weezer – The World Has Turned And Left Me Here Lyrics
| 22 years ago
|
When I was in gr. 10, I was at an OAC party (gr 13's) and I put Blue on and put it on this song, and the guy that was having a party yelled out "Who put this song on?" and I thought he was mad, so I timidly said "I did..." to which he replied "Good job man, great cd and the best song on there!" Good times.. |

Weezer – Chess Lyrics

Rivers recorded a bunch of demos of it (~1993), but it was never finished. |

Weezer – I Do Lyrics

I like this song better than any on Green, but it didn't fit the album so I think it's better that it was put on a bside. |

Weezer – Always Lyrics

I wouldn't say that it's their best love song, but it is nice.. personally I prefer "I Do" |

Weezer – How Long? Lyrics
|
A great pop tune, it's too bad that it didn't turn up on Maladroit. I hope that it gets recorded again sometime for album 5 or maybe 6. |

The Beatles – Something Lyrics

George wasn't the one that got The Beatles into drugs, but nevertheless this is an amazing love song. |

The Beatles – Rain Lyrics
|
One of The Beatles' best songs, too bad it was a bside that many people never heard. |
submissions
The Beatles – Her Majesty Lyrics
|
I think it should have been left off the album... even with the pause before it, it sounds out of place |

Counting Crows – Mr. Jones Lyrics
|
It's about desiring fame, zooey's got it right. In the live versions (ie on Across a Wire) Adam changes the lyrics to reflect the way his views have changed since he wrote the song |

Oasis – Wonderwall Lyrics

I agree with Vince about the line "there are many things that I would like to say to you, but I don't know how," however, it's not really the lyric itself but the way that it is sung.. so much emotion! |

Oasis – Cast No Shadow Lyrics

Apparently Noel wrote this about Richard Ashcroft originally, but I'm sure that he can relate to it as well.
I love the background vocals, they really add a lot to the beautiful melody and vocals |

Oasis – Don't Go Away Lyrics
|
The best version of this song is when Noel sings and plays it acoustic.. completely blows away the album version.. This is the song that got me back into Oasis. |

Oasis – Don't Look Back in Anger Lyrics
|
This song confused me for a long time, but I think I get it now. I like how, in a bootleg that I have, Noel changes "summertime's in bloom" to "summer went too soon" |

The Ataris – Broken Promise Ring Lyrics

For some reason I couldn't understand all the lyrics to this song until I looked them up. It really means a lot more to me now, especially the climax. |

The Ataris – Your Boyfriend Sucks Lyrics

I always end up being the "guy friend" and this has happened a few times to me.. I'm still undecided about the long movie quote.. I guess it works, but I'd rather have another verse |

The Get Up Kids – Central Standard Time Lyrics
| 22 years ago
|
Great, powerful vocals, another GUK song about distance..
I love the line "Will this come between us as I doubt all the pages I pour out?" The next line I sometimes like to change in my mind to "Don't let our doubts become regrets" which acts as a sort of maxim of mine |

The Get Up Kids – My Apology Lyrics
|
I think that the songwriter is regretting lyrics he has written in the past that perhaps have painted people in not the brightest tones... Same dilemma that every artist has, their own opinion of their work almost always gets more negative as time progresses and they change.. (ie Rivers Cuomo) More specifically, I think the line "sing a long.....hum along" means that the lyrics aren't really necessary when the music can tell the story. |

The Get Up Kids – A Newfound Interest in Massachusetts Lyrics

One of their top songs, I listen to the more emotional ones whenever I am getting over a relationship..I wish they had played this when I saw them live..
I can't say that I understand every line but the song still touches me |
