Josh Joplin Group – Here I Am Lyrics
|
Yeah I feel like this song could really go either way-- it could be about seeing someone you used to love and no longer having those feelings for them, or about seeing someone you used to only view as a friend and now feeling more for them. Or something entirely different, but those are the two ways I've interpreted it over the years. |

Marvelous 3 – Cigarette Lighter Love Song Lyrics
| 19 years ago
|
Yeah it's so weird to listen to this song in the context of the Marvelous 3's breakup when I've listened to it all these years in the context of a relationship. It still gives me chills, maybe even moreso now. |

Bain Mattox – Shotgun Pageant Lyrics
|
This song's mainly about one of Bain's cousins, I believe, who got pregnant out of wedlock. Thus shotgun pageant, like a shotgun wedding. |

Bain Mattox – Heartburn Boulevard Lyrics
|
The way Bain's told it, he had just recently broken up with a girl he'd been with awhile, and this female acquaintance of his who knew that started flirting with him really heavily one night, and he just wasn't ready for it, and this song's how he felt about that. |

Catatonia – Nothing Hurts Lyrics
|
This song is likely in reference to the quote "Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt" from Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut. The quote was what Billy Pilgrim wanted put on his tombstone. |

Jason Mraz – Love Is Real Lyrics
|
Just to clarify, this song is a cover of Bright Eyes' "Kathy With A K's Song." To be honest, I like this version ten times better than the Bright Eyes version, though. |

Third Eye Blind – Blinded (When I See You) Lyrics
| 21 years ago
|
Well, the line is "Icarus is not a t-shirt or a swan song/He is born again..." and not "The rest is not a t-shirt or a swan song/Heat is born again," according to the 3EB website.
While I don't know if this is what the song is referring to, Icarus is from Greek mythology, the son of Daedalus, and the story goes that they made wings out of wax to escape from the Labyrinth, and Daedalus told Icarus not to fly too close to the sun but he did anyway, and the wings melted and he fell to his death. Any ideas how that fits in the song, or is the "Icarus" in the song referring to something else? |

The Get Up Kids – Stay Gold, Ponyboy Lyrics
| 22 years ago

I like this song a lot, but I just wanted to say that the lyrics to both this and 'Don't Hate Me' are written on a pair of Express jeans. Seriously, go into Express and look for yourself. I was highly amused. |

Marvelous 3 – Cold As Hell Lyrics

"I'm kind of hungry and I hate my life" is the line on the indie version of Hey!Album, but on ReadySexGo the line's "I'm kinda hungry and you ain't my type." |

The Riddlin' Kids – I Feel Fine Lyrics

Great song, and these guys are way cool live. I saw them with Left Front Tire and Butch Walker and they were just so energetic and awesome, and the music was really good. Can't wait til their cd comes out. |

Marvelous 3 – Freak Of The Week Lyrics
|
NO, that's not what I'm saying. Please don't read so much into everything. All I'm saying is that when you're at a Butch show and he sings "Tell me I sold you" followed by yelling out, "I did!", that pretty much sums it all up to me. |

Marvelous 3 – I'm Losing You Lyrics

Butch Walker's whole solo album 'Left Of Self Centered' is reminiscent of this track, so if you like this one you might like his cd. |

Marvelous 3 – Freak Of The Week Lyrics

Oh, Butch totally acknowledges both the fact that this song is about selling out and that he did sell out. He jokes about it all the time.
Also, BoyBandRejectM3, ya know they used to be a metal band, right? Hehe... |

Yeah, sucks that they broke up last summer, doesn't it?
Oh well. Still my favorite band. |

Butch Walker – Suburbia Lyrics
|
At all the shows before he plays this song he says, "This is a song about growing up in Cartersville, Georgia." So...that's what it's about. Haha, I love it, it reminds me so much of where I live.
Also, the last verse gives me chills. At least live it does. |

Butch Walker – Trouble Lyrics

This song is sorta autobiographical about an experience with teen pregnancy Butch had back in high school, I think. |

Avril Lavigne – Complicated Lyrics
|
Okay, I like the song itself. It's catchy, fun to listen to, and...completely pop. Actually, my friends and I think it sounds a little bit country. I would like her soooo much better if she would just acknowledge that she's NOT punk. I mean, she says she's punk but she's definitely not punk. If she said "hey, I'm pop" then I would have much more respect for her. But as of now, I have very little. |

Splender – Yeah, Whatever Lyrics

This is my favorite Splender song...is it really written about a dog? That's slightly disappointing. I always thought of it as perfect in describing the situation between an ex-boyfriend and I. |

Sum 41 – Summer Lyrics

I heard this song playing in GAP this morning. What does that say about Sum 41?
Anyway, I like this song. I immediately had to look it up when I came home, because anything that inspires dancing in the GAP is pretty damn good. |

John Mayer – Comfortable Lyrics

Just in response to those who say John Mayer and Dave Matthews sound identical--I absolutely loathe DMB, but I love John Mayer. You'd think if they sounded the same that I'd like both. But I don't, because I think they sound very different.
Also, good song. |

Butch Walker – My Way Lyrics

Wow, this song is so exciting. I love Butch Walker, and I can't wait until the cd, 'Left Of Self Centered' comes out. Anyway, this song is reminiscent of 'Sugarbuzz' and 'Freak of the Week' in that they're all those "shove it up your ass" anthems. I love it! |

Robbie Williams – Singing For The Lonely Lyrics

This is my favorite song on 'Sing While You're Winning'. My favorite line is "The hooligan half of me that steals form Woolworth's, while the other lives for love." I can't pinpoint exactly why I like the song so much...it's just nice to listen to. |

Foo Fighters – Next Year Lyrics

This song used to be the theme song to the show 'Ed' on NBC. I really loved it as the theme, until this season when they switched to whatever shitty song they use now. Copyright issues, apparently, but still...I love this song. |

Foo Fighters – Walking After You Lyrics

I definitely like the version on 'The X-Files' soundtrack better. Either way, it's such a beautiful song. It's just amazing I think, and it shows sort of the other side of the Foo Fighters, in a way. |

Train – Something More Lyrics

I love this song...it very accurately describes a relationship I'm in right now. Which kind of sucks, but that's another story. I like Train a lot, and this is one of my favorites of their songs. |

such a pretty song. it's from 'Good Will Hunting', which i absolutely love as well. when i listen to this song, it just reminds me of the hope and maybe also the lack of hope in a relationship. |
