I have no idea where anyone would get U2 feel from this particular song(s). To me it's sort of a yin/yang (no pun completely intended) thing. Lovers in Japan, between the lyrics, and the up beat instrumentals seems to capture the whirlwind feeling of being in love, while reign of love captures the more realistic idea of knowing just how powerless you've let yourself become in your relationship (not a bad powerless). |

a possible Part II to "everything's not lost"? I don't think the "lost" refers to being physically lost some where. More like being in the middle of an uncertain, changing time in your life where maybe you can feel a little overwhelmed. But CM does mention that just because things are that way right now, doesn't mean they always will be. |

IMO this song is about Brandon feeling like his whole life he's been on borrowed time. He really hasn't had a place, or a person to call his own. Not necessarily meaning he had an abusive upbringing, or was a social outcast, because he does reference a girl in one line. I think it's really just a simple, straight forward, feeling of never having your own niche. The house where he grew up, the girl he dated, was a place/person he was with for a period of time and now that's over, and someone else gets to call it his/her own. So when he says "smile like you mean it" maybe he means something like so he knows "it's his"? anyone get me? |

The lyrics are pretty straight forward as to what the song lyrics mean. Sam's talking about listening to all these songs, and hearing these stories about great times/moments in other peoples lives and he feels he doesn't have anything to reflect back on and be like "wow, that was awesome". Or just some moment in time that will always bring a smile to his face. You obviously can't go back in time (unless you're Michael J. Fox..ziing) so time won't let him go back, but if it would, he would take the chances he didn't, he would be more proactive than reactive. Really it's a song about regret. He wants all these things he hears about, "someone that i never knew, someplace i will never be" but he can't have them and even if they were right there in front of him he prob wouldn't recognize them anyway. |

I know this isn't a meaning of the song but, if you're trying to play the solo and having trouble that's prob because John used seven different guitars on this solo and dubbed them together piece by piece. Ok for all you RHCP "fans" get close to the monitor and I'll type this out very s.l.o.w.l.y. for you..THIS SONG IS NOT.... N O T about drugs. Jesus Christ you shallow idiots reduce everything they write to drugs. Anthony wasn't addicted to cocaine, do your damn research at least. This song is about starting over, getting a clean slate. The "snow" in this song is the new blanket covering up all your past mistakes "the ground" and they are hidden beneath the surface, but still there somewhere. To me it's about bettering yourself as a person due to this second wind, but always having to remember that somewhere underneath it all, all those bad things still are there, they are a part of you, but not necessarily a bad part anymore, just a section that makes you who you are today. It's a hopeful song not a drug song you idiots...... |

I think this song is about a girl who had a rough childhood, and she isn't trying to stand up on her own and better herself, she's waiting on a hope that a man will come in and drastically change her life for the better --> "You sit there in your heartache Waiting on some beautiful boy To save you from your old ways"
"he doesnt look a thing like Jesus" meaning he doesn't look like what she expected her "savior" to look like, but he does treat her the way she expected this guy to. Maybe HE is the guy that is supposed to save her, and he wants to take it slow as to not screw this up, but her past which obviously effects how you act in the present is screwing up the relationship, the things that have burned her in the past are holding her back from him.--> "We're burning down the highway skyline On the back of a hurricane that started turning when you were young" im not so sure what the "devils water" actually is, maybe it's like she feels she is selling her soul to open up to him? and he thinks she doesnt have to jump right into it all at once, she can do it slowly "dip your feet". I don't think this song is about a girl. i think scotty was on the right track and it being about his career, maybe the band. it's definitely not about a girl, and not about kurt, so that's always good. A ton of emotion in this song though. The Fighters of Foo continue to rock. |

I think the title of the song gives away the meaning. He's doing a lot of second guessing, and thinking about this girl. We've all done it, looked deeper into stuff than we should have. I get the feeling "my poor brain" is like DG taking a look from the outside looking in (maybe reflecting) on all the over analyzing he did. "real life is so hard, we hide in the stars" he says "our heads" then "my head and your heart" maybe he thought more with his head and didnt follow his heart, and the girl leads by emotions not thoughts. There's definitely a connection between them hiding in the stars, and the blackout though. Can't quite seem to put my finger on it. The handshake and a....line, like you all said kicks ass. and to me is (i know it's been sad) about being caught in that "are we friends or are we more" area. |

first off I agree with the mix of emotions and negative look on the world. the "im happy to be sad" part I think is more about his acknowledged twisted security/pleasure (prob out of the familiarity of it) he gets from being sad. its happened so often he is used to it by now like "fine go ahead I've been through this already" sort of like "go ahead, bring it on" |

JC is basically summing up the sterotypes that consume most men/women. Their faults, if you will. In a broader sense, JC is saying "everyone has their 'things', the vices, the little ticks that make them who they are basically". In a relationship (sexual, friend, family, whatever it may be) you have to either accept those attributes, or decide you cannot, and not have a relationship with the person. You can..."take it or leave it." |

First off, about the killersrule person, from what I understand The Killers and The Bravery don't get along. This could all be rumor, but that's what I heard....either way I like both bands...anyway onto important matters:
I think the song is about a person that is going through a change in his/her life that he doesn't want to take place. It could be about a breakup, and the guy/girl feels his partner isn't being upfront with him "all that youre keeping from me". The main idea I get from this song is "lay it out, get everything on the table" in a much less poetic way "shit or get off the pot". In the end he/she doesnt agree with the breakup "nothing's happened, and everythings changed" (there's no reason for it), that's the feeling I get. Hope it was helpful. |

I recently saw PJ in concert and they played this song. I was pissed to see most people took this 4-5 minute song as a bathroom break, or chance to run and grab a beer. Shows how under appreciated the song is by of all people, PJ fans. The lyrics that stand out to me are "I know I was born, and I know that I'll die, the inbetween is mine". To me the song is about making the most of your life and not letting outside forces control how you live your life. You control your own destiny, make the most of it. |

To me, from what I've read about AK the song touches on at least two different things. I know I read he broke up with this Yohanna chick because he wanted kids and she didn't, maybe that's what he means by a "reverse vertigo" even 10 years earlier who would have guessed AK would be the one to want to settle down? The "sit up straight" part is most likely about his father and how his dad would take him on double dates when he was a kid...some dad.... |

Since there were no lyrics given in the booklet, and to my knowledge their website doesn't have lyrics (although I'm on a crappy PC right now and their site is too advanced for it so I cannot be 100% certain of that) I believe it's like many of the lyrics AK writes, it could go either way. In the song "BTW" the part where he says "ohhhh ahh..." well live he appears to be saying "push it in her booty" as he does the humping motion, not to mention the gibberish in songs like "Around the world" or "soul to squeeze" |

Sounds like a song critizing the current state we're all in. "don't be sad pills" would be in reference to the medical dependency so many more people are on today in the 21st century than in the past. "dollar bill will" the way people (especially here in the US) are motivated by money is a concept that was always prevelant but even more now than any other time. Good song, glad I was able to comment on it before 200 14 year olds deemed it a love song or song about drugs somehow. |

Seems like a pretty straight foward song about not letting the "minor" things in your life eat at you, or hold you down. AK claims he is a "minor king" which to me means he gets too caught up in "stressing the little things" as people always say. "and music is my aeroplane" "and music is my aerosmith?" lol...music is what gets him high, it's what does it for him...(along with a few other things, lol)...anyway pleasure spiked with pain, could that be heroine? sounds possible or he could just be one of those people who are into pain as pleasure sort of thing, but unfortuently i guess they're kinda labled as a band who sings about drugs a lot...btw i saw them 5/19 @ contiental..a few complaints, only played 1hr 45minutes, didnt play dosed, californication, warped, higher ground, aeroplane, or love rollercoaster (i assumed they didnt play warped or aeroplane because those were the navarro days, and love rollercoaster and higher ground because they arent originals, but come on..no dosed or californication?) they did kick ass for the short time they were out there, flea ruled, just woulda liked to have heard some more of them i guess.... |

i read in an interview that anthony said this long is about the LA nightlife, just all the things that take place on a hopping LA street, and it is dani the girl, if you have the cd just look up the lyrics, and it sounds like i nthe song the chant is "kiss a little mischief" but live i know for a fact he is saying "push it in her booty" i saw them live, and while saying that line over and over is he making the humping motion...so im not sure about the chat on the cd, but live it's definitely "push it in her booty" |

to me, this song is about the hyprocrisy people have towards a person who dies from a drug OD. if a person dies of cancer everyone says it's a shame, if a person OD's on a drug people just shrug it off and say "well they threw their own life away" which is partly true, but being addicted to drugs is just as much of a disease as cancer |
