I think Rofello reads way too much into these lyrics. They don't mean a whole lot. The song is amazingly catchy. Let's leave it at that. Great hooks. Great chorus. I must have listened to this song a thousand times, and it's just as good now as the first time I listened to it... |

Okay, let's all just settle down a bit here. These are interesting lyrics from the point of view that "A person is brilliant, but people are stupid." I love PJ, but I occasionally tire of their flamingly liberal views. Study your history books all the way back to the days of the Roman Empire. You will be thankful that Gee Dub is your political representative when you learn about the insane exploits of Nero and Caligula. You'll also discover that the human race is jealous, greedy, and war-prone by nature. It has always been, and will always be that way. Enjoy the fact that your few years on this spinning ball of dirt will be spent free from opression and torture. Support nothing. Beware of believing too strongly in anything. |

I think this song is about how the media numbs our senses. The 666 reference is not necessarily demonic. It's more about how we allow ourselves to get wrapped up in everything we see and hear on television, radio, video games. These things collectively become our anti-God, drawing us into their debauchery. Of course, I could be way off. These guys don't even speak English as their first language. But this album is absolutely incredible. There's no filler to be found. Every song is worthy of praise and chock-full of musicianship. |

The voice-over on this song actually came from a September 12th, 1997 call to the Art Bell radio show, which broadcasts out of Nevada and entertains the notions all sorts of extraterrestrial and conspiracy theorists. It was quite a controversial call, as the station suddenly lost its signal for about two minutes during the call. Alas, the "disoriented" gentleman heard on the song called the show back a few days later to confirm that he had pulled off a delicious hoax. His words are still quite frightening in the context of Faiip de Oiad, though, don't you think?
From my research, the best meaning I can extract for "Faiip de Oiad" is that it is Enochian for "Voice of God." An interesting (and fitting) ending to an absolute masterpiece of an album. |
