LL Cool J – Mama Said Knock You Out Lyrics 22 years ago
Ummm.....you got several lyrics wrong. But you were pretty close. An example is when you said "Oh, English filled my mind...". Actually he says "Old English filled my mind.." 'Old English' is a type of cheap alcohol, often sold in the classic "40 oz." size.

Babyface – How Come, How Long Lyrics 22 years ago
They left out the bridge! Here's what I can understand of it....
"I on occasion met that guy. There stirred a feeling deep inside; something bout him wasn't right./ The way he proves himself a man, by beatin his woman with his hand, oh I wish that she had seen the light./ How can someone like this call themself a man? (He's not a man!), Cause in reality, he's far more than his big hand./ And we cannot ignore whenever we see the signs, cause ANY kind of abuse, God knows, is a CRIME."

Great song with a great message. Wish it had been a bigger hit.

U2 – Where The Streets Have No Name Lyrics 22 years ago
I think this place "where the streets have no name" is heaven. When they say "I want to feel sunlight on my face See that dust cloud disappear without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain ", it's an obvious referance to a wonderful, peaceful place. That's my thoughts.

DC Talk – My Friend (so Long) Lyrics 22 years ago
Many people claim this song is about a particular artist or group in the christian music industry (such as Jars of Clay, Amy Grant, or perhaps even Creed) that have "sold out". As interesting and controversial as that would be, the truth is (as been stated by the band themselves in many interviews) that this is a ficticious story about a ficticious group or artist. It's just supposed to address the fact that there are those out there that may or may not have "sold out" or are thinking about doing it. DC Talk is just trying to give everyone a heads up and tell them to remember that they are all under watchful eyes and their decisions can have far reaching effects. The song itself is pretty self-explanitory.
I think this is a really funny, sarcastic, daring, and gut-checking song. IF YOU EVER READ THIS TOBY, MIKE, OR KEVIN, you all should take more chances like this and do more songs like this! It a breath of fresh air!

Vertical Horizon – Everything You Want Lyrics 22 years ago
This might be a little out there, but what if he's talking about God in the chorus? It makes sense. Then the last chorus, he's speaking from God's point of view. There certainly seems to be spiritual undertones in this song. What do you think?

Creed – Faceless Man Lyrics 22 years ago
When he says "Now I saw a face on the water. It looked humble but willing to fight. I saw the will of a warrior. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He looked me right in the eyes, Direct and concise to remind me
To always do what's right", he is clearly talking about Jesus Christ. In fact "his yoke is easy, and his burden is light" is a direct quote from the bible talking about Christ. The faceless man is Christ. Scott Stapp is saying he knows there is someone there, but he doesn't know him well enough to see his face. But he goes on to say "Next time I see this face, I'll say I choose to live for always. So won't you come inside And never go away". This means maybe if God really reveals himself to Scott again (like he's saying 'God, just give me ONE more sign, THEN I'll believe'), then he'll invite Christ into his heart and ask Him to never go away.
But also, when it says "...if the face inside can't see the light I know I'll have to walk alone And if I walk alone to the other side I know I might not make it home". He is saying that if the light of Christ can't be seen in him by God, he'll have to walk alone. And if he dies without the light inside (christ), he might not make it home (to heaven). The fact is though, there's no 'might' or maybe about it. Either there was and is a Jesus Christ, son of God, who was and is the only way to heaven, or there isn't. Decide soon Scott...
